These files include icons, themes, graphic images, help files, and so on. attribute A characteristic of an item, such as color or size. All items in a product line have attributes, which are used to search for items by the attribute picker. For the product line shirts, the attributes are size, color, and material, among others. attribute matrix A function that enables the refined search (matrix format) using the defined attributes of a product line. attribute picker A function that enables a refined search using the defined attributes of a product line. banner ad An ad that runs either at the top of or along the side of a Web page. benefit The financial gain or advantage that comes from using a coupon when purchasing an item. A coupon can provide a 10% reduction in the amount of the total purchases price, one free item, or free shipping. In some cases, a purchaser must meet certain conditions, or requirements, to use a coupon. For example, the user must purchase 10 items or more or must purchase over $100 in items. category A specific section of a catalog in which items of the same type or by the same manufacturer are presented together. In a catalog of PCs, categories could be Dell, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and so on. child category A subcategory of items that belong to a parent category. Notebooks could be a child category of the parent category office supplies. SAP AG 2008 2
client A supplier or vendor linked to a banner ad on a Web site. For example, when a business sells items on a Web site from multiple companies, the business may run a banner ad to promote a specific company. In this situation, the client is the company that is being promoted and linked to the banner ad. coupon A code entered by a customer during online checkout (on the Web site) in order to receive a reduction in the amount of the item price, order total, or the items from a specific manufacturer. credit card gateway A service requesting authorization of funds from a card holder s bank after a customer enters credit card details during online checkout (on the Web site). culture The appearance and format of various elements of the user interface that are affected by a user s country or language. Elements such as numbers and dates can be affected by country-specific standards. dimension Additional characteristic related to an attribute. Men s pants can have an attribute of size; the dimensions of this attribute can be waist measurement and inseam length. equipment Container for fitments. An auto parts retailer doesn't sell cars; it sells fitments for cars, such as tires, hoses, and brakes. Instead of searching a Web site for brakes and getting results for every make and model of every car made, a customer can enter equipment information first (make and model: 2005 Mercedes 300SL wagon) and find the brakes that fit that particular make and model. fitment An element of equipment. Tires, brakes, and hoses are fitments for a car (equipment type). SAP AG 2008 4
lead count Number of leads as synchronized in from SAP Business One. The lead count is displayed in sales reports. parent category A product category to which child categories (subcategories) of products belong. Pens can be a child category of the parent category office supplies. SAP AG 2008 5
resource Customer-defined field to provide additional information about an item for the benefit of Web site shoppers. An online retailer who sells rugs may use resources to display additional details about a rug, such as: hand tied and dyed, 100 percent natural silk fibers, and so on. resource metadata Data about the resource; a shell for customized information. shopping cart Virtual container used to designate the items a customer intends to purchase online. slot One of nine points on a Web page theme that can be populated with HTML content, banner ads, and plugins. tax name Full name associated with a tax code. Minnesota State Sales Tax is the tax name for the tax code MN. theme Framework of the configurable elements that define the look and feel (graphics, colors, and fonts used) of a Web site. A theme puts HTML and other content into slots, leaving a main window (also a slot) available for dynamic content usually items from the online catalog. SAP AG 2008 6
variant An item that does not exist until it is configured by a customer using items available on a Web site. A customer can build a computer by selecting a processor, hard drive, motherboard, and other items from lists of items available on a Web site. wallet Credit card information that is saved for the customer so that frequent customers Web sites can expedite the checkout process by not having to reenter this information. Web flow The steps that a shopping cart takes during the online shopping and checkout process: items added to a shopping cart, entry of address and credit card information, selection of shipping method, and so on. SAP Business One E-Commerce and Web CRM is delivered with a default Web flow, which can be modified to meet company-specific needs. A Web site may want customers to enter their address before they select a shipping method. Therefore, if a customer lives in Hawaii and the Web store is in New Hampshire, UPS ground is not displayed as a possible shipping method. SAP AG 2008 7
Web tools SAP Business One E-Commerce (formerly known as NetPoint Commerce) and Web CRM (formerly known as NetPoint Focus) are sometimes referred to collectively and generically as Web tools. When referring to both components, the official application name is used: SAP Business One E-Commerce and Web CRM. The e-commerce component of SAP Business One E-Commerce and Web CRM provides an online presence for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-customer (B2C) product sales. The Web customer relationship management (CRM) component of SAP Business One E-Commerce and Web CRM provides comprehensive sales and service functions, including remote access to customer orders and service call information. The e-commerce and Web CRM components of Web tools are licensed separately and can be used individually or combined. SAP Business One E-Commerce and Web CRM is designed to work together with SAP Business One; it cannot be used as a stand-alone product. Web site product sales information, in addition to service and sales call information entered via the Web site, is synchronized with SAP Business One at predetermined intervals, as frequently as every 20 minutes. wish list Customer-created list of items the customer would like to buy. It can be made publicly available and searchable; it can also be sent to family and friends. SAP AG 2008 8
