Martin County ATC Betty J. Hunt Adviser Being able to take students to Louisville for FBLA State Leadership Conference is a highlight of my teaching year. Students are able to make contacts and come away with friends from across the state of Kentucky. They come away with more confidence in themselves because they have competed on the state level. In addition, our students enjoy traveling to another part of Kentucky. Many times, we take students that have never seen the great city of Louisville. This year was a treat because of the city gearing up for Thunder over Louisville. My students enjoyed talking to an Air force pilot that shared he was in FBLA 17 years ago. We all enjoyed the practice air show over the Ohio River. We bring home great memories to share with parents, fellow students, administrators and teachers. Although we did not place at state conference, our students had a great time, became acquainted with others from across the state and learned many valuable lessons. Being able to expose students to this type of experience allows them to have a better understanding of the business world.
