Director s Message About EDRC EDRC is a national engineering center established in June 2014 with a support of Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) to foster Korean engineering enterprises are experiencing difficulty to have a competence workforce, which is a critical for their success. However, current engineering education system is not able to provide qualified workforce which engineering companies desire to have. high quality engineers in Korea in order to fulfill the demand from domestic engineering industry. EDRC works closely with Korean engineering companies and offers them the best solution for upgrading their competitiveness in the global plant engineering market by providing a high practical engineering education and a technical consultation with experiencing experts. Engineering education keeps a traditional pedantic curriculum even though innovation and technology in the field of engineering is changing rapidly. The current education system is short of providing qualified engineering force for Korean companies. The Korean engineering companies should compete both with the advanced nations companies based on qualified engineering manpower and the low cost based companies in emerging countries. Korean government designated Engineering Development Research Center (EDRC) to work for providing qualified engineering workforce. Our mission is to train a generation of engineers at the breaking frontier of engineering with professional knowledge and industrial process. EDRC has been working closely with industry and developing its industry-oriented education program since beginning. By now, about 36 enterprises and 27 universities joined in the EDRC as industrial partners and the number of the industrial and academic partners is increasing continuously. The EDRC makes efforts to enhance the engineering industry s global competence by providing a well-educated workforce. Taking EDRC education program will bring you to be ready for global talents in engineering and world will wait for you. Boost your technical competence with EDRC!! Engineering Development Research Center Seoul National Director 04 Chonghun Han Major Missions 01 Foster high-caliber graduate students and engineers equipped with industrial process experiences Internship to top-tier global engineering companies EDRC Certificates designed to cultivate process engineers 02 Develop competitiveness of technologies Industry-oriented projects Focus on competence areas of basic process design 03 Establish a hub of worldwide plant engieering network Establish database of know-how obtained from projects Share experiences and knowledge with academia & industries 05

EDRC Subject Matter Experts Pool for plant engineering industries EDRC initiated to operate Subject Matter Experts Pool for plant industries. The EDRC Experts Pool recruites experienced engineers and specialists in the individual subject matters from all the resources including retired individuals and global experts, and keep them active in their subject matters. EDRC provides connection between the subject matter experts and the companies in the plant industry who need the experts in their engineers training and in their actual projects. When any subject matter experts cannot be found in Korea, the oversea experts will be utilized in the EDRC Expert Pool. Exploring Global Talents for Small & Medium sized Enterprises To alleviate uncorking bottlenecks of Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Universities in the fields of plant, shipbuilding, civil engineering & construction, and manufacturing industry and to lift the competence of their technologies and for supporting them to enter international markets, we gratefully announce a new program for supporting to invite global engineering experts to domestic SMEs enterprises and Universities. Hope many companies to join the program. 18 19
