In the afternoon and evening of November 17th, TMA celebrated the company s 17th Anniversary at the White Palace conference hall, with participation by all TMA s employees plus many customers and partners from different countries. The party started with exciting musical performances from many teams then promotion announcements and awards for top performers. This was followed by music, sport and photo awards, dinner and lucky draws. In the Chairman & CEO speech, Dr. Le, TMA Chairman reviewed the key achievements as well as challenges of the company in the transformation and also outlined the company focus in In the past 12 months, TMA has continued growing steadily, achieving a growth target of 15% to reach 1,700 technical staff and has introduced new services such as IT Managed Services and Visual Design. In 2015, TMA will continue the transformation program across all levels and all teams with a focus on customer and employee satisfaction.

3 3 Many parents were impressed by company growth, the working environment and what the company has provided for staff in career development and benefits, including the care for staff in holding this Parents Day. Hundreds of staff parents joined TMA Parents Day on Saturday Dec 1st, 2014 in TMA Tower. From early morning, Dr.Le and Ms.Anh, TMA s chairman and CEO, stood at the company front door to welcome staff and their parents. It was a big surprise for the organizing team that many staff parents came a long way from the central and southern part of Vietnam to join the party. The event started with a facility tour where the parents got to see the place where their sons or daughters worked. Then the parents visited display of TMA history, the old book library and our collection of Vietnamese cultural objects. In the meeting after that, Dr.Le, Ms.Anh and the company top management said thank to the staff for their hard work and dedication to grow the company, and thanked their families for great support. Many parents were impressed about the company growth, working environment and what the company has provided for staff in career development and benefits, especially organizing this Parents Day.

4 4 TMA Open Day TMA s 2nd Open Day in 2014 was organized on Dec 6th, 2014 in TMA Tower to attract and select top candidates for 2015 resource needs. Open Day is a TMA regular activity where candidates can visit the TMA offices to see the working environment and learn about the company benefits, career opportunities and open positions. In this event the candidates were also interested in technical seminars presented on the latest technologies. More than 300 IT graduates including many experienced engineers joined this event to do IQ tests and technical interviews. Candidates passing the 1st round of screening were invited to the 2nd round, interviews on the following week. After joining TMA in January, these new hires will attend 3 months of foundation training before joining delivery groups for further technical and project training. Healthcare Analytics Seminar Invited by the TMA Big Data and Analytics group, Quinn Ho, who has more than 10 years of experiences in healthcare analytics from US, conducted a seminar on healthcare analytics on Thursday Oct 30th, 2014 in TMA Tower. More than 30 people from analytics and healthcare teams joined the seminar to learn about US healthcare trends on big data and analytics, and the process to go from business needs to solution and implementation. During 2014 the TMA Big Data and Analytics group supported many projects on solutions and training. To keep up with the latest trends in this area, in Nov 2014, Dr. Bui Duc Quang and Dr. Bui Quoc Thai from R&D center attended the Predictive Analytics & Business Insights 2014 conference in San Francisco, CA, USA.

If you have comments or feedback to improve these sites, please send to New Service: IT Managed Services After several years providing IT managed services for existing software clients, TMA has officially launched its IT Managed Services as a new service offering to help our overseas clients maintain and monitor their IT systems 24/7 to ensure high availability with attractive cost. The initial portfolio includes IT services & support, data networking, communication system, server & cloud administration and application support. The new service was based on the TMA IT team s 14 years of experience in designing, installing, monitoring, and maintaining large computing systems. Since being launched, the IT Managed Services has signed several contracts with Australian clients on IT system design and installation, server and cloud administration and network integration. New Service: Visual Design To meet an increasing demand from existing and new clients on UI/UX designs, in July 2014 TMA formed a TMA Visual Design Group (T-Design). With 12 designers, T-Design specializes in responsive Web, mobile and tablet application interfaces. The team s goal is to follow the latest design trends to meet global design standards and meet the expectations of clients in different countries. In the last 5 months, T-Design has finished 12 design projects for clients from USA, UK, France, Australia, Japan, and Singapore with good feedback. This new service is a part of the TMA plan to offer end-to-end solution for different software and IT needs from partners and clients.

6 INDUSTRY NEWS 6 Samsung picks Vietnam for $3bn smartphone factory Source: bbc.com Samsung Electronics has announced plans to spend up to $3bn ( 1.8bn) to create a new smartphone factory in Vietnam. The facility would operate alongside another $2bn plant the company already runs in the country, which began production in March. Intel, LG, Panasonic and Microsoft's handset unit are among other tech firms to have expanded manufacturing in the country over the past couple of years. It marks a shift away from China. Experts say the combination of tax breaks and a relatively cheap workforce make the country an appealing base when compared with its northern neighbour. Vietnam exported $19.2bn worth of mobile telephones and accessories over the first 10 months of the year - 8% more than for the same period in 2013, according to Vietnam's General Statistics Office. Microsoft moves Nokia manufacturing from China to Vietnam Source: zdnet.com Amid a large restructuring of its Nokia unit, Microsoft is also joining many technology companies moving manufacturing from China to Vietnam. Microsoft is also moving operations to Brazil and Mexico. As for manufacturing, Microsoft's Nokia unit is swapping China for Hanoi, Vietnam, Brazil and Mexico. Microsoft isn't the first tech giant to scale back its China manufacturing. To wit: Samsung plans to shift production from China to Vietnam to preserve profit margins. Intel has operations in Vietnam. LG also has plants in Vietnam.

7 INDUSTRY NEWS 7 Vietnam 1st IT Outsourcing Conference Despite of huge improvements on infrastructure and the significant growth of software outsourcing industry, Vietnam is still unknown to many outside people as a high tech investment destination. In order to promote the country software industry, Quang Trung Software Park, HCMC computer associations and executives from top IT companies in Vietnam will organize the first Vietnam IT Outsourcing Conference in October The goals of this event are to promote Vietnam software industry to foreign companies, business matching and introduce business environment as well as human resources to potential clients and investors. As a leading software company in Vietnam, TMA joined the organizing team and the advisor group to make this conference successful and become a regular event. Vietnam IT Services Climb The Value Chain Source: forbes.com Vietnam s IT services sector boomed in recent years as international companies raced to capitalize on the country s considerable base of low-cost tech talent. Although many came in search of cheap workers for basic tasks, some now see the country as a viable provider of higher-value services, including complex software development, data analytics, and even original R&D. As Techonomy reported in June, Vietnam shows big potential to become a major provider of IT services in the coming years. Although still an IT minnow compared to powerhouses like India and China, Vietnam benefits from an expanding trained workforce, low labor costs, government incentives, and other advantages. More Korean Companies Recruiting Vietnamese Software Developers Source: businesskorea.co.kr According to industry sources on December 19 (2013), an increasing number of Korea s small and medium-sized software companies such as Andwise, Namo Interactive, and Tomato System are recruiting developers from Vietnam, in the face of difficulties in finding talented software developers in Korea. Those firms are developing new services and upgrading products using these local employees. A considerable number of Korea s Yonsei and Korea University-level students, such as those from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Hanoi University of Technology are hired, said, Kim Tae-sik, Head of ActsOne. The company has been providing software outsourcing services to Korean firms since the establishment of the Offshore Development Center in HCMC, Vietnam in November 2010.
