2 Gas Processing Solutions The golden age of gas Experts agree that by 2035 global gas use will rise by more than 50 percent and account for more than one-quarter of energy demand. In order to prepare for this future, it is vital to develop existing, proven reserves as well as to tap into the world s vast unconventional gas and oil resources. 3 Onshore and Offshore Gas Processing Integrated solutions to monetize your gas resources UOP provides solutions for both onshore and offshore gas plants, even under the most challenging scenarios such as remote locations or short project timelines. Available as modular equipment or licensed technology, our integrated solutions for natural gas conditioning and treating and NGL recovery include: Dew pointing Dew pointing helps avoid downstream equipment operability issues associated with condensation and liquid slugging and controls gas heating value. UOP offers a broad range of dew-pointing technologies including the MemGuard TM Regenerable Adsorbent System to protect downstream membrane systems, mechanical refrigeration systems, SeparSIV TM Layered TSA for heavy hydrocarbon removal, Joule-Thomson plants and turboexpander solutions. Mercury removal Even at low levels, mercury in natural gas poses a threat to the structural integrity of your equipment. UOP adsorbent solutions help prevent mercury contamination. UOP offers regenerable molecular sieve adsorbents and non-regenerable metal oxide adsorbents to remove mercury from natural gas, LPG and other light hydrocarbon streams. SeparSIV Honeywell UOP s SeparSIV adsorption system is often ideal for gas producers and their EPC suppliers treating feed gas for removal of C + 6 components and BTEX to below 1 ppm level without removing lighter hydrocarbons. The SeparSIV adsorption system provides on-specification product gas at up to a 50% lower Economic Lifecycle Cost versus a cryogenic solution, potentially resulting in millions of dollars in savings. Separex Membranes UOP Separex membrane systems separate gases such as CO 2, H 2 S, H 2 O, He, and H 2 from various gas streams including natural, associated, unconventional, and shale gas. A result of continuous improvement and on-going research and development, our portfolio of membrane elements is the most advanced and flexible in the industry. UOP Separex Flux offers balanced processing capacity and hydrocarbon recovery. UOP Separex Flux+ provides higher processing capacity than Separex Flux. UOP Separex Select provides higher selectivity resulting in significantly higher hydrocarbon recovery compared to Separex Flux and Separex Flux+ elements. Acid gas removal UOP s flexible solutions help remove harmful acid gas from natural gas streams and improve overall performance. These solutions include UOP Separex TM membrane systems available with an enhanced membrane product portfolio designed to increase hydrocarbon recovery and capacity, UOP Amine Guard TM FS process, UOP Benfield TM process, UOP SeparALL process and adsorbent technologies. Dehydration Effective dehydration is critical to avoid unplanned shutdowns, costly equipment repairs and hazardous working conditions. Industry-leading UOP MOLSIV TM adsorbents combine to simultaneously remove water and contaminants from the gas stream, protecting downstream equipment and reducing operating costs. NGL recovery UOP offers the industry s broadest portfolio of hydrocarbon management solutions. The UOP Russell line of modular plants enables enhanced NGL recovery with modular units that provide an effective cost solution and up to six months faster speed to first gas for many projects than competitive offerings. Enhanced recovery is offered via modular plants or licensed technology delivered through our alliance with Ortloff Engineers, Ltd. and heavy hydrocarbon removal is enabled by the SeparSIV Layered TSA solution. No matter your needs, UOP has a solution to help optimize your NGL recovery. 3
4 LNG Pretreatment Remove impurities for liquids recovery and liquefaction Gas that is converted to LNG for ease of storage and transportation must be pretreated to remove harsh contaminants and heavy hydrocarbons before it can enter the cryogenic liquefaction process. By consistently removing contaminants and recovering hydrocarbons upstream of liquefaction processes, your plants run with fewer upsets for longer intervals between shutdowns and at higher throughputs adding to bottom-line performance. Variations in feed gas quality over time add to the challenge of effective pretreatment. UOP offers flexible LNG feed gas pre-treating technologies and equipment required to remove mercury, sulfur compounds and carbon dioxide as well as recover NGLs to meet rigorous operating and product specifications.
