Important information for BPIF staff
1 bpif insurance services bpif insurance services This newsletter is to inform you of an exciting new service for the BPIF and our members. We have always been committed to providing members with premier benefits and occasionally some areas of our offering need to be refreshed to ensure the products and services we endorse stay best of breed. To this end, BPIF has elected to terminate its relationship with AON who have provided the commercial insurance scheme BPIF First for members for a number of years. Our research confirmed that business insurance is a major issue for members and a significant purchase. Members have told us they want a competitive proposition, offering a range of quality products designed for the print sector, backed up by high standards of service from people that understand our industry. As a result, I am delighted to announce the launch of a new service which has been designed exclusively for our members bpif insurance services. We ve teamed up with leading independent insurance broker, R K Harrison to create bpif insurance services. R K Harrison are market leaders in the print sector with a strong track record and are recognised as experts in the development and management of industry specific programmes. R K Harrison shares BPIF s vision for a premier insurance service that offers a full range of business insurance products designed to cater for all members large and small. The service includes a range of benefits that will be further developed as the scheme evolves. R K Harrison will be conducting a series of training sessions in the near future and I would urge you to attend if you can. In the meantime if you do have any questions about the new scheme, please contact Steve Walker at steve.walker@bpif.org.uk. I m sure you will join me in giving this new service every possible support and by continuing to provide our members with exceptional schemes such as this, we can maintain out position as the principal business support organisation for the print industry. Michael Johnson, Chief Executive, BPIF
bpif insurance services 2 Welcome to bpif insurance services During the week commencing the 28th July, all BPIF members will receive a letter from Michael Johnson informing them of the launch of bpif insurance services, highlighting the benefits of the exclusive offering. The following week bpif insurance services will formally introduce themselves to members through an introductory letter and promotional brochure, initiating a series of advertising, PR and sponsorship activities as part of the integrated launch campaign. What makes bpif insurance services unique? Under the previous scheme, members were limited in how they could purchase the product, the options available to them and how it would affect their budget. With bpif insurance services, we ve negotiated print specific products to reflect the diversity of BPIF members and each policy is tailored to suit their business, irrespective of its size. What makes bpif insurance services special? More options Before: The old scheme restricted how members purchased their insurance. In this respect, it meant that a member could not go through the AON scheme directly, they had to rely on their broker to obtain a quotation. Now: bpif insurance services approach enables the members to choose how they would like to purchase their insurance, either direct with bpif insurance services or through their existing broker the choice is theirs. More choice Before: Members only had one insurer writing their policies, which was restrictive and could mean that the rates may not be competitive. Now: We have a panel of insurers with print industry experience all looking to write business. This means that members get print specific covers, competitive prices and more choice of products. More products Before: Members could only purchase commercial combined insurance which covered the day to day running of their business. If members wanted to cover other business risks they would have to buy that separately or elsewhere. Now: We offer a range of products to suit all member requirements and budgets from essential print covers with competitive prices through to more extensive, premium products. Not only will we offer print specific insurance but also a range of products to further protect members against a variety of other potential risks. We are looking to expand this initial offering so in the near future will also be launching two new products for trade credit insurance and machinery breakdown cover.
