1 Research and Editorial Report 2013 Launch date: 17 June 2013 Background: With the increasing globalisation of the legal industry, The Lawyer has identified a need, both in the Asia-Pacific region and the UK, to understand the: key trends and analysis on the growth and development of the legal market across the region largest firms operating in the region (both independent and international firms) breakdown of legal services they provide in-house legal departments they serve leading individuals involved in the management of these firms major deals to be confirmed in the region key business development opportunities To fulfil this information need, The Lawyer will launch The Asia Pacific 150 as separate editorial and business information products that will also include the announcement of the top independent and international law firms ranked by headcount in the region. 1

2 How will the content be delivered? The Asia Pacific 150 will be split into 2 products: Highlights and key findings of the research will be delivered through a dedicated issue of The Lawyer on 17 June containing: An overview of the key market developments in the region A league table containing a selection of the top 100 independent law firms and the top 50 International firms operating in the region Interviews with key individuals working within the private practice and in-house legal communities. This product will be published in print and online to be distributed as follows: The Lawyer s UK print audience of 20,899 (measured by PwC in 2012) A selection of 2,500 leading individuals from the Asia Pacific 150 firms including senior management, practice area heads and other key partners The Lawyer will also conduct a sustained marketing campaign to its registered user database for TheLawyer.com of 120,000 people to promote the information online A comprehensive research report (produced in PDF format and on The Lawyer Acumen) containing full data-sets collected from the research, plus supporting analysis, interviews and profiles of all 150 firms operating in the region. This will be a key tool for different user groups providing different benefits such as conducting business in the region, benchmarking, business development support, identifying M&A targets, assessing career opportunities, market research and more. 2

3 The Lawyer is offering the opportunity for legal service providers, and suppliers into the legal industry both in the UK and the Asia-Pacific to exploit Executive Summary as a key sponsorship and advertising channel with the following packages: Headline engagement package will be sold for 34,950 and will include the Branding on the front cover of The Lawyer on 17 June as follows: The Lawyer Asia Pacific 150 in association with [the sponsor s name/logo] A full page ad on the Inside Front Cover or Outside Back Cover within the issue promoting the sponsor s importance and relevance to the market (worth 5,700) sponsor s view on the research findings and the market itself A 12 month, real-time content marketing channel on The Lawyer Acumen (worth between 9,950 and 25,000 per year dependant on the number of lawyers in Logos to appear on all online and marketing associated with the promotion of the paid-for product. This includes all related newsletters to promote the paidfor product, such as The Lawyer News Daily, The Lawyer Asia-Pacific and more Exclusive online advertising around the Asia Pacific 150 highlights content including a site takeover, leaderboard ads and both display MPU sites - all of which link back to the sponsor s website Exclusive and early access to the aggregated research results providing competitive edge prior to publication Unlimited copies of the paid-for business information (normally sold on a one licence per user fee for 995) for interested parties within the sponsor s organisation Branding on the front cover of The Lawyer on 17 June as follows: The Lawyer Asia Pacific 150 in association with [the sponsor s name/logo] A full page ad on the Inside Front Cover of the paid-for PDF representing the only advertisement to appear with the business information product sponsor s view on the research findings and the market itself 3

4 Premium engagement package will be sold for 14,950 and will include the A full page ad within the issue promoting the sponsor s importance and relevance to the market (worth 4,750) sponsor s view on the research findings and the market itself (worth 4,750) A 6 month, real-time content marketing channel on The Lawyer Acumen (worth between 6,450 and 14,950 per year dependant on the number of lawyers in Logos to appear on all online and marketing associated with the promotion of the paid-for product. This includes all related newsletters to promote the paidfor product, such as The Lawyer News Daily, The Lawyer Asia-Pacific and more 10 copies of the paid-for business information (normally sold on a one licence per user fee for 995) for interested parties within the sponsor s organisation 4
