Product Data Sheet L-OAOB-101105 October 2005 Machinery Health Management CSI Oil Analysis Options n CSI Oil Laboratory provides accurate and comprehensive industrial oil analysis results you can import directly intothe RBMware Machinery Health Management platform. n OilView software manages your oil analysis program by importing lab data, exporting PDF reports, and 0perating CSI Minilabs. n CSI Minilabs bring advanced oil analysis onsite and under your control. n Training and consulting services for continuous improvement of your plant lubrication program include Startup services, onsite or classroom training, and audits and consulting. Introduction Oil analysis is to machinery health what blood analysis is to medical health. A medical technician uses blood work to find information about disease, cholesterol, and cell count. In much the same way, an oil analyst tests oil for machine wear, lube system contamination, and oil quality. An effective lubrication program is both predictive and proactive: Predictive in that it gives early warning of unseen corrosion and wear, and Proactive because it eliminates the root causes of failure. Emerson Process Management offers a number of CSI oil analysis options to help you achieve an up to 500% return on your investment in this technology. Design and Implement the ideal lubrication program for your plant using the right combination of CSI products, services, and training. www.mhm.assetweb.com

Product Data Sheet October 2005 Trivector Analyzer Packages With onsite oil analysis you can achieve the highest possible cost savings for your program. With immediate results, immediate retest when needed, onsite ownership, and complete analysis you can defer maintenance costs, reduce lubricant consumption, improve credibility, and predict mechanical failures. Basic 5200 Minilab The advanced 5200 Minilab combines the capabilities of CSI s Trivector Analyzer with the digital viscometer to provide thorough and accurate detection of oil condition problems, wear particles, and other contaminants. This Minilab is appropriate for facilities with a wide variety of equipment, from clean systems to industrial drives. This Industrial Oil Analyzer combines a range of tests into one piece of equipment, including dielectric measurement, magnetic differentiation of wear particles, water detection, laser particle counting, and the ability to make wear debris filter patches for microscopic examination. Innovations in testing are incorporate into the 5200, which help users to easily achieve accurate results every time. Components of this system include: n 5200 Trivector Analyzer n 52DV Digital Viscometer n Minilab Module n Trivector Lab Module n Three-day Minilab Startup Service Comprehensive 5200 Minilab Add the technology of Wear Debris Analysis (WDA) to the advanced 5200 Minilab to give the lubrication program a proactive edge. Onsite WDA permits immediate identification of the type and source of contaminants or wear debris particles through visual examination. Often, this information is the key to finding and eliminating root causes of recurring problems that shorten machine life. Increase the efficiency and ease of running your lubrication program with the a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). LIMS sample batching, sample tracking, automated report delivery, and data import from the laboratory or other oil analysis equipment provides a level of streamlining and integration that is second to none. Machinery Health Management Comprehensive Analysis in Seven Minutes using a four step operation. Oil Chemistry (Dielectric + Viscosity) measures the dielectric of the undiluted oil and compares it to the reference oil dielectric to calculate the chemical index. The Chemical Index indicates deterioration of the oil due to oxidation, nitration, soot, and moisture contamination. Wear Debris Analysis is achieved through a Patch Maker, which creates filter patches for viewing under a microscope. The images can be captured using a video camera attached to the microscope. The Wear Debris particle type determines the wear mechanism such as adhesive wear, abrasive wear, fatigue wear, etc. Ferrous and Water testing measures the change in time resolved dielectric. An oscillating magnet is used to detect ferrous material. The results are reported as ferrous indice and water content. A Laser Particle Counter measures the number and size distribution of particles in the oil sample. The results are reported as particle count, ISO codes and PPM Distribution. Page 5
Product Data Sheet October 2005 The Instruments Behind the Minilab 5200 Trivector Analyzer The 7-minute Industrial Oil Analyzer combines a range of wear, contamination, and chemistry tests into one piece of equipment, including dielectric, ferrous index, contaminant index, large contaminant indication, water, ISO laser particle counting, and the ability to make wear debris filter patches for microscopic examination. Innovations in testing are incorporated in the 5200, which help users to easily achieve accurate results every time. 5100 Analyzer The 5100 measures oil degradation, oil contamination, and machine wear using a combination of dielectric, ferrous, contaminant, water, and large contaminant indications. The 5100 Analyzer is available in single or dual-channel packages. 52DV Digital Viscometer Viscosity is the primary indicator of the essential lubricating property of a fluid and determines the nature and the thickness of the fluid film between surfaces. In about one minute per test, the 52DV indicates any change in viscosity, such as fuel dilution and detects misapplication or mixing of oils. 52ZM Stereo-Zoom Microscope The 52ZM is ideal for viewing filter patches from the 5200 or 51WD. It gives a stereo view through dual objective lenses, providing a 3D perspective. It has infinite zoom from 35x to 225x magnification. It has an x-y stage for scanning filter patches. Additionally, the microscope features top and bottom lighting with variable intensity. 51WD Filter Patch Maker A critical part of wear debris analysis is preparation of the debris so that it may be viewed through a microscope. The 51WD Filter Patch Maker is designed with a dual patch making capability, a vacuum pump, and a waste oil collection system that makes preparing wear debris samples simple, fast, and neat. Microscope, image capture system, and WDA software module (not included with 51WD are needed to perform wear debris analysis with the 51WD. 51CV Wear Debris Image Capture Kit The Wear Debris Image Capture Kit is designed to speed up and simplify the process of obtaining quality images to be analyzed and stored. The kit consists of a camera, a video capture card, and a adapter that attaches the camera to the microscope. This system allows you to view fullcolor live video from the camera on your computer and to capture a still image from the video input. 52PC Particle Counter This second generation laser particle counter from CSI performs particle counting and size distribution for lubricants and hydraulic fluids. The 52PC can be upgraded to 5200 by purchasing the A5052PC-UG upgrade package. Page 6
