Importance of Distance Education There has been tremendous expansion of the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) System in India, particularly in the recent past. This is due to the fact that on one hand, the limited availability in the infrastructure for face-to-face interaction is unable to match the educational demands of the ever increasing number of aspiring learners, and on the other hand the affordability and convenience offered by Open Universities and Distance Education Institutions have contributed to the strengthening of the ODL system in the country. Examination Procedure The examination procedure for distance learning programme is stated below which may be changed according to necessity. 1. Winter Session Examination: December 2.Summer Session Examination: June For Winter Session (December) examination the candidates will be required to submit their application forms by 10 October without fine and by 30th October with fine of Rs.200/-(Rupees Two Hundred). For Summer Session (June) examination the candidates will be required to submit their application forms by 10th April without fine and by 30th April with fine of Rs. 200/-(RupeesTwo Hundred).
Completion Period There is mandatory requirement to complete a programme within a time limit of maximum 6years for 2 years programme, falling which renewal will be required for the entire programme and students will have to appear the examination in all subjects again. Evaluation And Results After evaluation of the answer sheets theresult will be published within shortperiod, according to which mark sheets and certificates will be issued to the candidates.
