1.0 Learning Management System Overview The Venza Group Learning Management System is a feature-rich, online learning management system that requires only a standard web browser to create, track and manage all of your training initiatives. A Learning Management System (LMS) is a fully customizable pre-packaged, user-friendly learning portal that allows learners instant access to trusted, targeted content. 2.0 Front Page 2.1 Login The Member Login feature provides a secured user authentication function to ensure data security. Each user is assigned a unique user name and password for access. To login to the LMS, the user will enter both their User Name and Password and then click the Login button. jdoe Version 2.0.0 Page 3
2.2 User Registration (Sign Up!) If the User Registration (Sign Up!) feature is enabled in the LMS settings, it allows guests to sign up with restricted access. 2.3 Password Recovery The Password Recovery feature allows the user to reset their password if they were to forget it. The user enters their username or email address in the provided field and an email is immediately sent to the email account that is stored in the database. This email will provide a link for password reset. The link is only active for 24hrs. Version 2.0.0 Page 4
2.4 Contact Us The Contact Us link allows the user to contact the LMS administration with issues or inquiries. The contact form provides specific fields and includes a CAPTCHA field to minimize spam emails from web spiders. 2.5 Information Pages The LMS administrator has the ability to provide additional information pages to guests and registered users. 2.6 Multi-Language Feature (not active) The built-in language feature allows the user to switch between different languages. The LMS administrator controls the languages that are available to the users. Note: Not all LMS s have secondary languages. 3.0 Dashboard After login, the user will be directed to their Dashboard. The Dashboard provides quick access to certain features in the LMS. Depending on their role (User, Manager, or Administrator), each user may have access to other dashboards. User Dashboard Manager Dashboard Administrator Dashboard There are a number of links on the left-hand navigation panel. Depending on the LMS configuration, these links may change. For a general user, the Dashboard contains the My Courses and My Events tables. These tables provide the user with quick access to the courses and events that they are enrolled in. The managers and administrators have additional tables that show course and user activity. Version 2.0.0 Page 7
3.1 Profile Clicking on the Profile link takes a user to their profile information. On this page, the user is able to change some of their profile information. As seen below, some fields are inactive and locked. The fields can only be changed and updated by a manager or administrator. If the data in a locked field is incorrect, please contact an LMS manager or administrator to update the information. Version 2.0.0 Page 8
3.2 Calendar The Calendar feature displays the courses or events that a user is enrolled in or registered for. Use the arrows to scroll by month and/or year. Clicking on a blue, underlined event will give the user the option to view, edit, or delete an event. Each user can add personal events to the calendar by clicking the Add Personal Event button on the calendar page. A user can then define their personal event by setting the Start date, End date, and Times, and adding a Title and Description of the event. When finished defining the event, click the Create event button. Version 2.0.0 Page 9
3.3 Instant Messenger (IM) (not active) The Instant Messenger feature provides users a way to communicate with other users from within the LMS. The IM page shows all online and offline users that are within the user s group or hierarchy. To chat with another user, click the user s name, type in a message, and click Send. When the conversation is complete, use the Back link to return to the main IM page. Version 2.0.0 Page 10
From the main IM page, there are two additional buttons, Conference and View History that enable the user to do a conference chat or to view all past chat history. Conference View History Version 2.0.0 Page 11
3.4 Course Catalog All Courses shows the user all courses or Learning Paths to which they have been given access. From this page, they have the ability to enroll in or request permission to enroll in a course or learning path. There are four Send Request statuses: Enroll, Send Request, Request Pending, and Course assigned. Courses with open enrollment will generally have the Enroll option. Closed enrollment courses will require the user to request enrollment. Upon approval, their status will change to Course assigned. The Courses tab shows all available courses on an individual level. These courses may or may not be a part of a learning path. The Learning Paths tab shows courses grouped by learning paths. Some courses shown on the Courses tab may not be available here as they are not a part of a learning path. Version 2.0.0 Page 12
The information icon shows additional information about each course or event. The user can also filter and sort the course table by title, format, length, price or subject. Version 2.0.0 Page 13
3.5 My Courses The My Courses or Transcript page shows all courses and events in which a user is enrolled or has been enrolled. This page provides access to course information, course launch, and certificates. Like the Course Catalog, this page can be sorted and filtered. It is also broken down by Courses and Learning Paths tabs. Courses Tab Learning Paths Tab To launch a course or event click the Take, Retake, or Review links under Course View. The Progress bar gives a visual view of the completion status. Empty = Not Started, Half Yellow = Started, but Not Completed, Full Green = Completed, and Full Red = Failed. Version 2.0.0 Page 14

When a course or event is completed successfully, a Certificate link is activated. Clicking this link launches a certificate in PDF format that can be printed or saved to the user s computer. Version 2.0.0 Page 16
