To find out more about signing up with either provider, install Best Case Bankruptcy version 15 then start Best Case and open a client file. From the Forms and Schedules Menu, go to the main menu bar and click Credit Reports/What is Credit Report Manager. Then click the More Info button. You will be directed to a web page with the links, forms and information you need to register for this feature. If you have any additional questions about this service, you can contact Credit Infonet at 866-218- 1003. Enter New Unlock Code 1. Once we ve received your paperwork, we ll fax you a new option code so that you can access the Credit Report feature. To enter your unlock code, click Help >About Best Case Bankruptcy on the menu bar and then on the Upgrade button in the lower left-hand corner of the About screen that opens. Configuring the Credit Report Manager With a client file open to the main list of Forms and Schedules, click Credit Reports > Configuration on the main menu bar. Enter the appropriate information into the corresponding tabs as described below. Report Providers Select CIN Credit Infonet and skip to the CIN Login tab. CIN Login Here you will be required to input the Client Code, User Name and Password, provided to you when you set up your account with Credit Infonet. You cannot download credit reports into Best Case without your Login Information. After you have entered this information, Best Case will automatically save it so it won t have to be re-entered each time you order a credit report. Once your login information has been filled in, click the Next Tab button until you advance to the Security tab. Note: In this screen, you will also be able to select whether you download a two source or three source report. For more information on what sources are used for these reports, you can call or email Credit Infonet.
Security Information in the Security tab allows you to restrict access to the Credit Report Import feature. If you have not specified any passwords in this section, anyone accessing your Best Case software will be able to use the Credit Report Import feature and view information in the Configuration window. There are two types of passwords: 1. Supervisor Password: This password controls access to credit report ordering and configuration windows to view and modify login, credit card, and security settings. You can type in a word or phrase to help remember the password in the Hint Phrase text field. 2. User Password: This password controls access to the order and download credit report screens ONLY. It cannot be used to view or modify configuration settings. Options As a default, the following options are checked for your convenience: 1. Change UPPERCASE data to UpperLower: Changes the format of the credit report information from all upper case to lower case with the first letters of each word in upper case. 2. Remove Joint Debtor Duplicates: If there are duplicate claims shown on the credit report for both the debtor and joint debtor, Best Case will remove the joint debtor's claims. Order Credit Report Wizard Once you have entered in all of the necessary configuration information, you are ready to start ordering and downloading credit reports. To access our easy Order Credit Report Wizard, open a client file. With the Forms and Schedules list open, go to the main menu bar and click Credit Report/Credit Reports for this Client. The first screen of the wizard appears as pictured below. Step 1: Select Credit Reports to Request
Step 2: Input former address if less than two years Step 1: Select Authentication Status If you have not already authenticated the identity of the debtor, select the Begin Authenticate button. This will take you to a Credit Infonet website where the debtor must answer questions to verify his or her identity. The debtor's identity must be authenticated before you can order a credit report. After the debtor s identity has been successfully authenticated, you will have the option to close the browser and return to Best Case, where the below screen will appear, allowing you to place an order. If you have already authenticated the identity of the debtor, select the Already Authenticated button. This will take you to the next screen (see below) and allow you to place an order, or save your information to order later. Finish Order: Either Order Information Now or Save Information You ve Input and Order Later
Credit Report Manager After you ve ordered a report, the Credit Report Manager appears. In the Credit Report Manager, you can import the credit report(s) into Best Case. If you had previously saved your information to order later, you can access the Order Reports button from the Credit Report Manager. (You can reopen the Credit Report Manager by clicking Credit Report/Credit Reports for this Client in the menu bar. Note: In order to access the Credit Report Manager, you must have a client file open to the main list of Forms and Schedules.) The Credit Report Manager. Notice that if you ordered reports through the Wizard, the buttons for Steps 1-3 (Order Reports) is disabled and you can move on to Step 4. Ordering and Downloading Reports STEP 1: STEP 2: STEP 3: STEP 4: If you have not already authenticated the identity of the debtor, select Authenticate. This will take you to a Credit Infonet website where the debtor must answer questions to verify his or her identity. The debtor's identity must be authenticated before you can order a credit report. If you have already authenticated, the button will be disabled and you can go to the next step. Click the Order Reports button to send the debtor information to Credit Infonet, who will process your report and release it for download. If you have already ordered the report, the button will be disabled and you can go to the next step. The report is automatically downloaded once you have ordered it. When the report is done downloading, a message appears letting you know it is finished. Click OK to return to the Credit Report Manager. Click Import Reports to Best Case. This will allow you to view reports and will open the Import window. Viewing Reports and Importing to Best Case After requesting and downloading reports using the instructions above, you can access them to view information or copy claims to Best Case Bankruptcy. To Import Claims to Best Case Bankruptcy 1. First, open the Credit Report Manager: With your client file open, go to the Forms and Schedules Menu and click Credit Report/Credit Reports for this Client. 2. Click the Import Reports to Best Case button.
3. The next screen lists all claims that appeared on the merged credit report. For each claim, you can see the creditor name, account type, loan type, date reported, last activity date, balance, the person responsible for the debt, the status, and account number. Additional information for the highlighted creditor, such as the creditor s address and the collateral for the debt, appears at the bottom of the screen. Select a schedule for each creditor on the credit report. The View PDF button in the upper right allows you to view a PDF of the merged credit report. The Omit $0.00 & Paid checkbox in the bottom left corner allows you to exclude claims that have both a $0 balance and a status of Paid. 4. You can either import all records to Schedule F and move individual creditors from Schedule F to other schedules, or select a schedule for each debt in this screen. To import all debts to Schedule F, click the Tag All as Sch F button at the top of the window then click the Import to Client button. To select a schedule for each debt, highlight the first creditor record and press D, E or F on your keyboard or use the Sch D, Sch E, or Sch F button at the top of the window. For Schedule E claims, you ll need to select the type of priority for each debt. After you select a schedule, the highlighter bar will automatically move to the next record. Select the appropriate schedule for each creditor. Click Import to Client when you have marked each record that you want to import. A message will appear telling you how many creditors were imported.
