About the IAM Level 5 Certificate in Managing Change (QCF) This qualification is for individuals who wish to develop their skills in managing within organisations. Qualification aim The IAM Level 5 Certificate in Managing Change deals with understanding the principles of management, how to plan for, the implementation of management plans and the evaluation of. However, the IAM recommend that candidates should have a level 4 qualification or equivalent work experience within an organisation. For candidates whose first language is not English, The IAM recommend a language knowledge equivalent to level 6 ILETS. The content and level of demand of this qualification is broadly equivalent to study in the second year of a university bachelors degree in the area of business management. Therefore, given the complexity of some of the content we believe that candidates will not have sufficient knowledge or experience below the age of 19. Study Methods This course may be studied at a fixed venue (see www.deltic-training.co.uk for details) or on a distance basis. Course duration Fixed Venues: For candidates studying this qualification at one of our fixed venues, the course will be structured to allow for assessment after four months of study. Page 1

Distance learning: Deltic have designed support materials to enable candidates to study wherever they are in the world. We recommend 60 hours of study to achieve the Certificate, over as short or long a time as you wish. The actual amount of study will largely reflect the amount of practical experience the student has to complement their studies. We find that five hours a week for students with relevant experience enables them to complete this course in about three months. Course Learning Outcomes This Certificate has four learning outcomes. Reading List: Please note that the following texts are not included within the course fee. The Mandatory text and Business the Ultimate Resource 3 rd edition, when used in conjunction with the online Deltic course notes, will be sufficient reading to achieve a satisfactory pass for the course. However, we recommend that students undertake further reading from the further suggested reading to achieve higher grades, and to enable study at greater depth. Mandatory texts: - Hislop, D. (2010) Management and Organizational Behaviour. 9th edition, Harlow, FT Prentice Hall Students of the course should also obtain a copy of Business the Ultimate Resource (3 rd edition) as students will be directed to this within their online course notes. Both these texts are available from good booksellers, or through Ebay, Amazon etc. Alternatively they may be purchased from Deltic at 40 for the Atkin & Brooks book, 45 for the Wiggins book, and 50 for the Business: the Ultimate Resource 3 rd edition book. Assessment The Award is assessed by a single Assignment of between 2500 3000 words. The assignment is produced to answer a series of questions presented by the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM). Assessment is carried out by Deltic Training, and subject to Moderation by the awarding body according to their regulations. The timetable for registration to the Award, presentation of assignments, and notification of results is as per the Assessment Series Timetable, details of which are available from the DelticTraining website. Progression As well as being a standalone recognised professional award, students successfully completing the Certificate may progress to further levels and depth of study. The most popular next stage of study is to the full qualification: the IAM Level 5 Diploma in Business and Administrative Management (broadly equivalent to the second year of a UK university batchelor degree in the area of business management).
