Your donations help little heroes Daniel needed open heart surgery but was determined to get to school - and he did it. Daniel was born with a hole in his heart. At nine years old, his family was devastated to hear he needed life saving open heart surgery. Daniel fought back. He recovered from his surgery and was determined to get back to school. Six weeks later, he did, and he continues to enjoy his maths classes and football with his friends. BHF research has contributed to our understanding of how to fix holes in the heart safely, like Daniel s, and reduce the chance of complications after surgery. The BHF currently provides funding of more than 14 million for congenital heart disease research. This year we need to raise more. To find out more about Dan s story, watch our video at bagit.bhf.org.uk/stories

For over 50 years we ve pioneered research that s transformed the lives of millions of people living with heart disease. Our work has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are changing the fight against heart disease. But heart and circulatory disease still kills around one in four people in the UK, stealing them away from their families and loved ones. From babies born with life threatening heart problems, to the many mums, dads and grandparents who survive a heart attack and endure the daily battles of heart failure. Join our fight for every heartbeat in the UK. Every pound raised, minute of your time and donation to our shops will help make a difference to people s lives.
