The ifob and attached key is managed using Traka intelligent cabinets, controlling and auditing access and use. When used independently, the ifob becomes an intelligent electronic key that records where and when used. intelligent key management Keys are an important asset in every organisation: giving access to buildings, facilities, secure areas, equipment, machinery, lockers, cabinets and vehicles. To safeguard such assets, Traka has developed products and software for the intelligent management of keys. At the heart of the system is the Traka ifob. These silver bullet-shaped devices carry a unique electronic ID. Once permanently attached to an ifob with a robust security seal, individual keys or keysets are electronically tagged. Each ifob is then assigned a specific port within a Traka key cabinet and locked in place until released by an authorised user. Traka products ensure that only authorised users are permitted access to the key cabinet, and then only to designated keys. Users can be assigned temporary or permanent access to the cabinet and the keys by way of pin codes, biometric scanner or card reader. The system automatically controls and records when a key is used and by whom on a central database and this information is available via the cabinet s display or on the administrator s computer. Standalone solutions Traka Touch is a simplified key management system which offers a standalone solution. There is no need for a connection to an IT network to manage the database and everything needed is embedded within the unit. Full audit capability of all key transactions is retained within the system using internal solid state memory and memory card. Traka32 administration software The power behind the Traka solution is the powerful multi-lingual Traka32 software. Running on a single PC or networked server environment, it provides extensive real time data capture of the events to an SQL server database and using the Traka Integration Engine software can interface to most third party access control databases. A modular system for organisations of all sizes A Traka system can be a single key or a whole network of key cabinets even spanning continents. The modular system can be expanded as needs and budgets allow and functionality increased with the many options available.

Integrated with existing access control Traka systems operate with almost every existing access card reader allowing key management to become an extension of existing access control systems that are used by customers. Management information Traka cabinets can be configured in various ways, for example: to alarm when keys are overdue, when taken, when not taken, to control access at differing times or days, to request asset defect information, to request multiple user authorisation and to provide extensive, effective asset management information. Multi-language instructions Because Traka systems are used worldwide, its key cabinets can be configured to display user instructions in a wide range of languages.

intelligent access control Traka s unique ifob can be programmed to act as an electronic key in its own right, replacing conventional keys. Operator specific ifobs can be personalised, enabling individual drivers or users of nearly any key activated equipment to access all of the equipment they are qualified to operate. On accessing a Traka cabinet, all the user s permissions are written to an ifob usually for a finite period (such as a specific shift). Once this period has expired, the ifob can no longer be used until reprogrammed via a Traka cabinet. As an operator goes about his or her work, the ifob records all the details of the equipment s use. This information is automatically downloaded to the system s central database when the ifob is returned to the Traka cabinet at the end of the shift. Traka s intelligent lockers are ideal for controlling access to portable equipment such as data terminals, laptops, attack alarms, security radios or AMTs. The user simply accesses the locker via a keypad, swipe card, proximity token or biometric scanner, and the system releases the pieces of equipment they can access. Lockers can also be equipped with charging stations so that rechargeable devices are always fully operational when removed, operating on a last in, last out cycle for maximum efficiency.
