Confidence Level Definitions We use the term confidence level to describe the likelihood that the items on the roadmap will be delivered at the dates shown on the timeline. There are many factors that impact our ability to predict delivery including but not limited to: Customer priorities Our releases are driven by customer feedback and prioritization. Sometimes the priorities change due to any number of external factors. At any time, we may change the priorities in any given future release to better reflect our customers interests. Quality Targets Each of our product releases undergoes a stringent quality assurance process prior to release. Should a particular capability not meet our quality targets, we may choose to defer that specific capability to a future release or not complete the development of that capability at all. Design Constraints In response to customer feedback, we attempt to provide visibility beyond the next product release. In doing so, we share capabilities that reflect customer requests but have not gone through the technical design phase. In some cases, the technical design phase will reveal a larger level of effort and dependencies that make the original timeframe infeasible. Further, the design phase could reveal that the capability is not technically feasible at all or not cost effective resulting in abandonment of effort. Budget Cycles For roadmaps that might include visibility beyond the current Ellucian fiscal year budget, all items are subject to financial progress against goals and the availability of funds for that particular project in future budget cycles. Engineering Forecasting Accuracy All roadmap items are subject to some level of forecasting accuracy imprecision resulting in certain functionality pushing out to later releases on a roadmap timeline. The further out the release date, the higher the likelihood that one or more of these factors will impact the accuracy of our roadmaps. That is why we clearly indicate less than 100% confidence for our next release even though it may scheduled to be released in the short-term, and why we use decreasing confidence levels for items that are further out on the roadmap.

Roadmap Feature Details

Dynamic Roles (Delivered Q3 2012) Provides more flexibility in the development of workflows Simplifies modeling required to do departmental approvals Reduces the on-going cost and upkeep of workflow models Ability to route workflow activity to a role based on the value of a context parameter at runtime rather than having to know the role at modeling time. An example of use would be departmental approval workflows, where the specific department depends on the context of the workflow as well as what is specifically being approved in any given process instance.

Dynamic Choices (Delivered Q3 2012) Supports use of dynamic, run-time data within web form drop-down and list controls Allows workflow models to address more dynamic processes and use cases Reduces complexity in design-time process modeling Retrieves values for Custom Form Activity Drop Downs and List controls at runtime from any datasource providing the most current values. Can retrieve values contextually using parameters within the specific workflow instance in order to adjust and filter datasource queries.

Dynamic Data Sources (Delivered Q3 2012) Supports reuse of data queries and logic, across workflow models Reduces maintenance effort across various models when data or logic changes Reuse across models helps consistency and more rapid building of new workflow models Queries used in Dynamic Choices are stored in Dynamic Data Sources. Dynamic Data Sources are centrally configured, and can be reused across workflow models to promote consistency in data usage, simplified update for data or logic changes, and easier build of new models with dynamic data.

JavaScript / CSS for Custom Web Forms (Delivered Q3 2012) Additional flexibility in creation, presentation, validation, and action taken by Workflow web forms Adds data validation, rich text editing, form section show/hide, wizard processes, and styling to forms Supports JavaScript and CSS application to Workflow Custom Activity forms Custom Activity Forms can now take advantage of JavaScript libraries, opening up new features like JavaScript validation, CSS styling, and other web form enhancements.

Weblogic 11g FMW Support (Delivered Q3 2012) Aligns with technical environment for Banner and other Ellucian products Enables consolidation of servers across Ellucian products Reduces server costs and maintenance overhead Technology Support of Oracle s Weblogic Fusion Middleware 11g server aligning Banner Workflow with other Ellucian products.

Timer Activity Ability to include time- & date-based or elapsed time-based pauses in workflow models and processes Very useful for: Pausing a process and then continuing at a certain time/date Sending a communication at a designated time/date or after an elapsed period Looping a process node to periodically check for a condition before proceeding New modeler and engine activity that allows workflows to pause until a certain date or amount of time has passed. For example, new kinds of workflows can be modeled that allow work to be done outside of the workflow s scope while checking periodically for completion before continuing.

Workflow Instance Name Update Supports providing additional workflow instance context and worklist clarity Workflow instance name can be updated at run-time within a live workflow process instance Names can be changed more than once and by different logic or parameters within a process Ability to update the instance name of a running Workflow process. Delivered as a Business Component within the Banner Workflow Business Component Catalog (BCC). Helpful for providing additional context to worklist items for task and process clarity for participants.

Luminis 5 Portlets Provide simple, direct access to Banner Workflow and services, directly from Luminis 5 Worklist items New process launching Administrative alerts Luminis IV customers upgrading to Luminis 5 can continue to provide workflow access from their portal Technology Workflow portlets for the Banner Workflow Worklist, Business Process manual launching, and Administrative Alerts.

i18n Localizations Internationalization of Banner Workflow administrative and user components Localizations to Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and French Aligns with localized and translated versions of other Ellucian products including Banner and Banner Document Management Ongoing value in increased i18n support and localizations over time i18n Internationalization of Banner Workflow administrative, end user, and integration components, localized to selected global regions. Aligns with Banner and BDM localizations into non-english languages.

Cancel Multiple Workflow Processes Easier administration of very large workflow environments with many simultaneously active processes Ability to stop or cancel multiple running workflow instances in bulk, using filters which may include date range, workflow s name, process definition name, or workflow process status.

RESTful Web Services Better integration capabilities and options to interact with the workflow engine from other systems Leverage Banner Workflow for or alongside other elements of campus infrastructure and process Ability to use RESTful implementation of web services to interact with external systems and processes, in addition to SOAP-based web services provided for Banner Workflow

UXD Improvements Improved visual and experience consistency across Banner XE products Banner Workflow user interface updated with UX improvements consistent with other Banner XE products.

Banner Workflow XE Allows use of Banner XE pages within workflow processes Supports application of Banner Workflow to automate processes whether Banner 8.x or XE technology is needed for the business process Technology Ability to use Banner XE pages within workflow processes in a manner similar to existing ability to use Banner 8.x forms within processes.

Worklist Filtering Help user to locate and prioritize their work based on worklist filters Find and address tasks easily, based on the specifics of running workflow instances More time available to complete tasks or for high-value activity, instead of searching for work, or unintentionally focusing on lower-priority tasks Worklist users can filter their worklist items by workflow process instance context parameter values.
