Transfer Articulation Agreement Pace University: School of Computer Science and Information Systems Pleasantville, NY and New York, NY and LaGuardia Community College, Long Island City, NY Effective August 2005 Pace University and LaGuardia Community College hereby enter into the following agreement governing the matriculation of LaGuardia Community College students at Pace University. Priority in admission is granted to LaGuardia Community College students who complete the Associate in Art Degree (A.A), the Associate in Science Degree (A.S.), or the Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.) with a minimum grade point average of 2.50 in the transfer curricula. According to this agreement, Pace University will: 1. Accept LaGuardia Community College students provided they have achieved a minimum grade of C in all courses required for their major at Pace University, and have completed the courses stated in the transfer guidelines. 2. After consultation with LaGuardia Community College, provide transfer guidelines which indicate courses the student should complete at LaGuardia Community College. According to this agreement, LaGuardia Community College will: 1. Publicize the agreement among its students and faculty; 2. Review the performance of LaGuardia Community College students who intend to matriculate at Pace University to assess the students academic preparation. According to this agreement, both institutions agree to: 1. Monitor the academic performance of students enrolling under the agreement, identifying problems, and working cooperatively to adjust course sequence and content so that students can transfer with no academic disruptions; 2. Arrange transfer meetings to update major course equivalencies between Pace University and LaGuardia Community College; 3. Make joint efforts to publicize the program internally and externally in order that the launching and maintaining of this program bears fruit. Each school must approve any information or statements about the program, whether published only in one school s materials (including admissions information, student bulletins, course guides, etc. or otherwise). 4. Notify each other concerning any contemplated curricular changes which would affect the future of this agreement. 3

LaGuardia Community College/Pace University Articulation Agreement Fact Sheet Guaranteed Transfer Criteria: Students who are graduating from LaGuardia Community College (LCC) with an Associate s degree as indicated below are eligible for the LCC/Pace Articulation leading to the corresponding degree and major as indicted below: LaGuardia Community College Pace University A.A.S. Programming & Systems B.S. Information Systems A.S. Computer Science B.A. Computer Science A.S. Computer Science B.S. Computer Science In these programs, students who complete their LCC A.S./A.A.S with an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (or better) are guaranteed admission to Pace University. Standard Program: The articulated credit transfers from LCC to Pace University are provided for in the attached articulation agreement. Transfer students completing all the required courses in the Associate s degree at LCC with a grade of C or better will be prepared to enroll in junior-level major courses and can realistically expect to complete the Pace Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in 4-5 semesters. Students will prepare their academic plans with advisers in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems. Financial Aid/Academic Scholarships: Upon enrollment at Pace, students from LCC who are admitted bearing the A.A.S./A.S. degree are eligible to receive financial aid, based upon financial need and or academic merit, on the same basis as any Pace student. Student must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA must be received by the Federal Student Aid office by February 15 th each year. Transfer students who have a 2.75 cumulative grade point average are eligible for Academic Scholarships and Grants. These awards range from $2,000 to full tuition annually. The average award aid is $6,000 annually. In addition to institutionally funded aid, students may qualify for need-based awards. Pace administers all Federal and State Financial Aid Programs. Cooperative Education and Career Services: Upon enrollment, transfer students are eligible to participate in programs and activities offered by Cooperative Education and Career Services. These include (but are not limited to) the Campus Interview Program for graduating students, career counseling, access to online job search access Cooperative Education Program. 4
