Lived on the ranch until leaving for College. Returned to work summers until finishing Seminary in 1954. Married Betty Joan Ireland, March 31, 1949, from Port Huron, Michigan, an elementary school teacher, retired in June, 1992. Two children, Mark E. Carver, born March 7,1952, Lake Forest, California, and Carol Carver Monahan, born February 14, 1956, Cincinnati, Ohio. Eight grandchildren, Alysa, Joseph, Robert, David, Rachel, Jordan, Braven, Tobin in order of age, and one great grandchild, Erica. Education B.A. Taylor University, Upland, IN, 1950. B.D. Retired as an Elder on the Southern California District, June 1999. Pastored in the Church of the Nazarene in Rulo, Nebraska (1954?), Kimball, Nebraska (1954-1956); Edison, New Jersey (1956-1958); and in Edinburgh, Scotland (1959). Also pastored a few months in a Baptist Church across the Firth of Forth in Scotland (1959). Pastored while out of college a year Methodist Churches in Kilgore and Cody, Nebraska, and while out of Seminary a year Methodist Churches in Kennard and Elk City, 1
Nebraska. This was due to an auto accident and subsequent recovery periods. Presently co-teacher of the Come and Go Sunday School class with Herbert L. Prince at the First Church of the Nazarene, San Diego, CA, beginning in the mid 70s. Other Involvements Fall 2003, Summer 2004, taught two Master of Ministry course for Point Loma Nazarene University. August 1987, Institutio Biblico Nazareno, Ensenada, Mexico. Taught a short course. Nazarene Theological Seminary, Guest Professor Inter-term, 1976 Inter-term, 1979 Inter-term, 1981 Summer, 1985 Editorial Board, Lockman Foundation since 1961 and member of the translating team for the New American Standard Bible. A member of the editorial team for the hopefully forthcoming New American Standard Study Bible, authored the notes for 1 and 2 Corinthians. It was never completed.
