1 What is the SSO System 1.1 Outline In general, each web application requires user authentication (ID and password) for its own. The SSO System allows you to manage several web applications through a single authentication. Conceptual diagrams before and after introduction of the SSO System are shown below. Without the use of the SSO System, your authentication information had to be entered for each web application you wished to use. After linking those web applications to the SSO system, you can access them using only the SSO user authentication. Note: External users are not allowed to access by authentication with ID and password) 1

1.2 Who can use the SSO The Hokkaido University employees are provided with the SSO ID and password. Undergraduate and graduate students without ID and password can log into each application by using separately notified URL, ID and password. Those who use the Financial Accounting System are provided with the SSO ID and password regardless of personal status. 1.3 When to receive the SSO ID and password It depends on the timing of employment. To those who are employed from the first day of a month, they will be issued immediately, to others at a later date. When your university ID is changed, the SSO ID and password need to be changed as well. 2 How to use the SSO System Here are the instructions on how to use the SSO System. 2.1 Logging into the SSO System 1) Open a web browser and enter the following URL in the address bar. https://enreiso.oicte.hokudai.ac.jp 2) Authentication choices will show. 3) Click Password authentication (on campus only) (パスワードでログイン ( 学 内 限 定 )). 2

In principle, the SSO is only accessible on campus. As to authentication off campus, IC card authentication or Matrix authentication is required in addition. Please refer to 4. Off-campus Access 4) After the log-in page shows, enter your ID and password. Your ID and password are sent in post-card format as below. Sample SSO ID Log-in button SSO Password After entering the SSO ID and password and clicking Log in (ログイン) button, the system portal page shows. You will be automatically logged out in eight hours after login. 3

2.2 The SSO System Portal The SSO System Portal will be displayed after successful log in. 5 1 2 1 3 4 (1) Notices on the SSO System (SSOシステムのお 知 らせ) Information regarding the the SSO System is listed. Notices in last two months are displayed by date. Notices with a mark 重 要 (important) will be on the top of the list regardless of the date. (2) Settings ( 個 人 環 境 設 定 ) Information regarding the individual environmental setting for the SSO System is listed. (3) List of Systems available (システム 一 覧 ) On-campus web systems available for the user ID are listed. (4) User s Manual (マニュアルを 見 る) The user s manual is available here. (5) Log out (ログアウト) You can log out of the System by clicking the button. 4

2.3 To check Notices on the SSO System 1) Click a title of a notice displayed under Notices on the SSO System (SSOシ ステムのお 知 らせ). Click the title 2) A pop-up window appears to show the content of the notice. To close the pop-up, click a button on the upper right-hand corner. 2.4 Logging out of the SSO System Log out to close the SSO System. 1) Click Log out (ログアウト). Log out 5

2) A message saying logged out will be displayed. Click to close the window. Some browsers are programed to save information such as ID and password. Be sure to log out by clicking the log out button to ensure information security. 6

2.5 Changing your SSO password You can change your SSOPW through the SSO Portal. 1) Click Change password (SSOシステムパスワード 変 更 ) under Settings ( 個 人 環 境 設 定 ). Click SSO システムパスワード 変 更 (Change the SSO system password) 7

2) Enter your current password and a new password, then click Register ( 登 録 ). Enter each password Register ( 登 録 ) Current password ( 現 在 のパスワード): Enter your current password. New Password ( 新 しいパスワード): Enter a new password. Note: A password should be eight digits or more including a capital letter, a small letter and a number. Retype the new password ( 新 しいパスワードの 確 認 ): Retype the new one for confirmation. Example of a password 12345678Ab All half-width alphabets or numbers, eight digits or more, including a capital letter, a small letter and a number 12345Ab Less than eight digits (only seven digits) 12345678A No small alphabets included 12345678b No capital alphabets included ABCDEFGb No numbers included 123456Ab Not half-width (all full-width) 8

3) After your new password is registered, a message will be displayed as below. Click OK. 4) After the previous page re-shows, click Close ( 閉 じる). Close ( 閉 じる) 9

3 How to use the web applications Through the SSO System Portal as below, you can log into each web application by simply clicking on the link. 3.1 Logging into each application 1) Click the link of application. Click the link of application 2) A new window will be opened. If JavaScript is enabled, the window will be linked to the clicked system page automatically. If JavaScript is disabled on your browser, the window below will be shown. Click Login (ログイン). Click Log in (ログイン) 10

3.2 Proxy settings Proxies can be added, deleted and edited. A new ID number will be issued to a proxy that is valid for 3 months maximum. With authorized IDs, you are able to access to the page for proxy settings. **Only a limited number of proxies can be set using the settings. 3.2.1 Management of proxies 1) Click Proxy settings ( 代 理 実 施 者 管 理 ). To the page of proxy settings. 2) A new window as below shows. 1. Proxy list: Registered proxies (see 3.2.3 Change of Proxies) 2. Edit ( 詳 細 ): See the detail and edit (See 3.2.2 Registering Proxies) 11

3. Add ( 追 加 登 録 ): Add a proxy 4. Close ( 閉 じる): Close the window Note: Log-in cannot be made with expired IDs. See 3.2.3 Change of Proxies to extend the validity period. 3.2.2 Registering proxies You can authorize a proxy to make transactions. 1) Click Add ( 追 加 登 録 ) on the proxy setting page. 2) Fill out the items on the registration page. 12

Proxy ID ( 代 理 実 施 者 ID): A proxy ID will be automatically filled Name ( 代 理 実 施 者 名 ): Enter a proxy s name Password (パスワード): Enter a password Note: A password should be half-width eight letters or more including a capital letter, a small letter and number. Valid period: Select a period for the proxy to be used Web applications: Select an application(s) to be used with the proxy (multiple choices allowed). 3) Fill out the form, and click Confirm ( 登 録 ). 4) Confirm the content, and click Save ( 実 行 ). 13

5) After completing, click Close ( 閉 じる). Inform the registered proxy his/her proxy ID ( 代 理 実 施 者 ID) and password (パス ワード). 3.2.3 Changing the proxy settings You can edit your proxies. 1) Click Edit ( 詳 細 ) to edit the information. 14

2) Change the registered information. Edit the items Change ( 変 更 ) Password (パスワード): Enter a new password if necessary. Note: A password should be half-width eight letters or more, and include a capital letter, small letter and number. Valid period: Select a period for the proxy to be used. If you change the valid period, the period starts on the day you made the change. Leave it blank if a change is not necessary. Available systems: Select a system(s) to use with the proxy (multiple checks allowed). 3) Fill out the form, and click Change ( 変 更 ). 15

4) Confirm the content, and click Save ( 実 行 ). 5) After a change is completed, click Close ( 閉 じる). If you have changed the password, inform the proxy the new one. 3.2.4 Deleting proxies You can delete a proxy from the list. 1) On the setting page, click the Edit ( 詳 細 ) button beside the listed proxy to delete. 16

2) Click Delete ( 削 除 ). 17

3) Confirm the content, and click Delete ( 実 行 ). 4) After completing, click Close ( 閉 じる). 18

3.3 Settings for web applications on the SSO On the SSO, you can add and delete web applications accessible through the system. Only one ID can be registered per system. The settings are available only with authorized IDs. 3.3.1 Setting for web applications 1) Select Settings for web applications (the SSO 対 象 システム 管 理 ). 2)System settings window will be displayed. 1. Applications (システム 名 ): Registered applications on the SSO System. 2. Details( 詳 細 ): Details on the appilcations. 3. Add ( 追 加 登 録 ): Add applications to use through the SSO System. 4. Close ( 閉 じる): Close the window. 3.3.2 Adding a web application You can add a web application to use through the SSO System. 1) Click Add ( 追 加 登 録 ) on the setting page. 20

2) Fill out the registration form. Application (システム 名 ): Select a web application to add. ID: Enter your ID for the selected application. Password (パスワード): Enter your password for the application. Retype (パスワード( 確 認 )): Retype the password. 3) Confirm the content, and click Add ( 実 行 ). 21

4) Confirm the content, and click Save ( 実 行 ). 5) After completing, click Close ( 閉 じる). 22

3.3.3 Changing your settings You can edit the settings for the registered web applications. 1) Click the Edit button ( 詳 細 ) of an application to edit. 2) Enter the new information for the application. ID: Enter your ID for the application. Password (パスワード): Enter your password for the application. Retype (パスワード( 確 認 )): Retype the password. 23

3) After confirming the content, click Change ( 変 更 ). 4) Confirm the information, and click Save ( 実 行 ). 5) After completing the change, click Close ( 閉 じる). 24

3.3.4 Deleting web applications from the SSO System. You can delete a web application from your list. 1) Click the Edit ( 詳 細 ) button of the application to be deleted. 2) Click Delete ( 削 除 ). 25

3) Confirm the content and click Save ( 実 行 ). 4) After completing, click Close ( 閉 じる). 26

3.4 Changing the password for a web application If a password has been changed on the website on its own, it also must be changed on the SSO System. 1) Click Change the password for a web application (SSO 対 象 システムパスワ ード 変 更 ). Click Change the password for a web application (SSO 対 象 システムパスワード 変 更 ) 2) Fill out the form to change the password. 27

Application (システム 名 ): Select a web application which password you wish to change. Password (パスワード): Enter your password for the selected application. Retype (パスワード( 確 認 )): Retype the password. 3) Enter a new password, and click 実 行 (Confirm). 4) After completing, click Close ( 閉 じる). 28

Relationship between passwords for the SSO System and linked systems Password change on the SSO System does NOT reflect on a linked system automatically. 4 Off Campus Access to the SSO System You can access to the SSO system off campus using IC Card Authorization. This IC Card Authorization is only available to the university regular employees with the card. Please select IC Card Authorization (ICカード 認 証 でログイン) button. Click IC Card Authorization (IC カード 認 証 でログイン) 4.1 IC Card Authorization 1) After inserting your IC card to a card reader, click Login (ログイン) Click Log in (ログイン) 30

When a window showing your digital authorization name appears, select the authorization to be used to log into the SSO. Then, click OK button. Click the name of authorization Click OK In case there is only one digital authorization name or no digital authorization name, the window above will not appear.
