Introduction CINCH Software Installation Instructions is your guide to installing the CINCH system and supporting software. Please call or log a support request with E-Markets if you have questions or would like to schedule an upgrade date. Chapter 1: Version Information This chapter contains important version information that you should know before you begin installing CINCH software. CINCH Version Previous Version of CINCH Installed Due to Table Updates and Backfills, you must upgrade from CINCH 11.3. If you have an older version installed, you must first upgrade to version 11.3 before you can upgrade to version 11.4. Once you have CINCH 11.3 installed, you may proceed with the CINCH 11.4 Installation. Note: If you are running a custom build of CINCH, please do not perform this update! Please contact your E-Markets support representative. No Previous Version of CINCH Installed If you do not have a previous version of CINCH installed, you may proceed with the CINCH 11.4 Installation. Microsoft Dynamics In order to run CINCH 11.4, you must have Microsoft Dynamics GP 11.0 SP3 (11.00.2164 KB2787423) installed, and Dex Version (11.00m359). If you do not have this version of Dynamics GP installed, please upgrade Dynamics GP before attempting to install CINCH 11.4. Please visit the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Update site for important information: https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/downloads/servicepacks/m dgp2010_patchreleases.htm?printpage=false Note: When running Windows 7/8 or Windows 2008/2013 Server operating systems, it is recommended to NOT install Microsoft Dynamics to the default install folder within Program Files. (Example of recommended location where to install C:\Microsoft Dynamics\GP) Microsoft SQL Server This version of CINCH is compatible with, SQL Server 2005 SP2, SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012.
Chapter 2: Downloading CINCH Software Downloading CINCH Software The latest version of CINCH is available for download from our ftp site. FTP username and password are: Username: ftpuser Password: Irdt3ch Download Contents The CINCH Software file contains the following contents: CINCH chunk file (.cnk) - contains the CINCH updates. SQL scripts (.sql) - to be run on the SQL database. CINCH What s New document - describes the enhancements made to the CINCH software. CINCH What s Fixed document - lists the reported issues that have been fixed in the CINCH software. Cinch Document Exchange System Manual this includes the instructions for installing, setting up and using Cinch Document Exchange. Cinch Manuals includes setup and use of the different modules. Will be available at a later date Cinch.chm is the online help. Will be available at a later date
Chapter 3: Installing CINCH Before You Begin Before you begin the CINCH Installation process, please complete the following steps: 1. Make sure no users are logged into the CINCH system. 2. Make sure you have a recent backup of your Company database. 3. Make sure you Export your modified Forms and Reports from Customization Maintenance. 4. Make sure you are running Microsoft Dynamics 11.0 SP3 (11.00.2164 KB2787423). CINCH R11.4 will only run on this version of Microsoft Dynamics GP. 5. If running CINCH Portal against a secondary database (replication), it will be necessary to disable replication prior to installing CINCH. a. Log into Microsoft Dynamics GP as sa. b. Open Portal Maintenance (Cards>Cinch Doc Exchanged>Portal Maintenance). c. Select the Disable Replication button to remove the replication job. d. Install CINCH e. Select the Enable Replication button to start the Replication job process. This may take some time, so schedule accordingly. Installing CINCH 1. Extract/unzip the files from zip file into a shared folder. 2. Copy and paste the.cnk file into the location where Microsoft Dynamics GP is installed (typically, the default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP). 3. Launch Dynamics GP. 4. You will receive a message that Dynamics needs to include new code, click on YES. 5. Message promts to go to Cinch Table Utility upon launching. Skip to step 6 for the first company update select ok for subsequent company updates. 6. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Maintenance>>SQL a. Choose DYNAMICS database. o o Select CinchAg as the product. Highlight all of the objects listed in the scrolling window. o Mark the checkboxes labeled Create Auto Procedure and Create Table. (DO NOT MARK THE DROP TABLE CHECKBOX OR YOU WILL LOSE ALL OF YOUR CINCH DATA!) o Click the Process button. b. Choose your company database. o Select CinchAg as the product. o Highlight all of the objects listed in the scrolling window.
o Mark the checkboxes labeled Create Auto Procedure and Create Table. (DO NOT MARK THE DROP TABLE CHECKBOX OR YOU WILL LOSE ALL OF YOUR CINCH DATA!) o Click the Process button. c. When the process has finished, you may close both windows and you do not need to Bind Defaults at this time. 7. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Maintenance>>Cinch Maintenance>>Table Utility. a. Choose CinchAg in the Product List. b. Choose System in the File Series List c. Click All>> to insert all tables into the right hand side. d. Click Compare Tables. e. When the Compare Tables process is finished, a window will appear with a message that some tables need upgrading. Click on Rebuild All. 8. Within Table Utility. a. Choose CinchAg in the Product List. b. Choose Project in the File Series List c. Click All>> to insert all tables into the right hand side. d. Click Compare Tables. e. When the Compare Tables process is finished, a window will appear with a message that some tables need upgrading. Click on Rebuild All. f. When the Rebuild process is finished, you may close the Table Utility window. 9. Open SQL Server Management Studio and run the following script against the DYNAMICS database: a. SQLDynamicsProcsR114.SQL 10. Within the SQL Server Management Studio, run the following scripts against your Company database: a. SQLCompanyFunctionsR114.sql b. SQLCompanyViewsR114.sql c. SQLCompanyProcsR114.sql d. SQLCompanyTriggersR114.sql e. SQLEconnectCompanyProcsR114.sql f. SQLCompanyProcsFMS_R114.sql (only required if FMS is installed). g. IRGrant.sql h. Run the following SQL command exec IRCSBindDefAll 11. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Maintenance>>Cinch Maintenance>>Table Utility. a. Click the Backfill button to open the Backfill window. b. Click each backfill button to update your previous data to the new table structures. o Backfills need to be run in a particular order, start in the upper left corner and run top to bottom then left to right. c. When the Backfill has been complete, you may close the Table Utility window. 12. Within Table Utility, the indexes should be rebuilt 1 time along with the table updates. This process happens automatically when the system prompts you to Update the database.
a. If you are manually updating your database, the Update Indexes button provides access to the script to initiate the process manually. 13. Within Table Utility, click the Create Cinch Jobs button to create the SQL job, Long Short Inquiry. The job will go through the long short report options and see if a long short report needs to be generated for the time and day it is being run at. a. The SQL Server Agent must be running for the job to be created and to run. b. The job is setup to check the long short report options every hour and every day of the week. 14. Repeat steps 5.b. thru 11 for each Dynamics/CINCH company. 15. Repeat steps 2 thru 4 on all subsequent computers. Validate that each workstation is on the current release. You can do this by selecting Help>>About Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Additional>> E- Markets About. The E-Markets Rel # should read R11.4 M4. Note: It is recommended that the CINCH Reg Key Maintenance window is opened and the OK button clicked to re-register the CINCH Registration Keys after upgrading. Open (Microsoft Dynamics GP >> Tools >> Setup >> Cinch Grain >> Reg Keys) and click the OK button. CINCH Documents 1. The Cinch.chm file located within the CINCH Download PDF Manuals folder needs to be placed in the Dynamics folder (the default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP). 2. The remaining files located within the CINCH Download PDF Manuals folder need to be placed in the Dynamics Documentation folder (the default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\Documentation). The files are as follows: a. Cinch Document Exchange System Manual b. Cinch Grain Software Procedures Manual c. Cinch Grain Software System Manual d. Cinch Process Manufacturing e. Cinch Sales Seed Software Procedures Manual f. Cinch Sales Seed Software System Manual g. Cinch Software Risk Management Manual h. LICENSE AGREEMENT Cinch 1112 3. Repeat Cinch Documents steps on each server/workstation that has CINCH installed.
Chapter 4: Optional CINCH.NET AddIns Components This chapter describes the optional CINCH AddIns components. Some new features of the CINCH software system require.net based applications that integrate with Microsoft Dynamics GP. These.NET applications are provided with the CINCH software and it is recommended to reinstall these with a new CINCH release. Unit Train In Import has its own installation file. Please see the Unit Train In Import Installation section for instructions. Setup for CINCH.NET AddIns Components In order for the CINCH.NET AddIns Components to function, each of the following requirements must be met: The following topics discuss each of the requirements: CINCH Application Assembly DLL Installation CINCH.NET DLL s Installation Unit Train In Import Installation CINCH Application Assembly DLL s Installation The CINCH Application Assembly DLL Application.CinchAg.dll is available in the CINCH download location in the Optional folder. The CINCH Application Assembly DLL must be installed for the CINCH.NET DLL s to function. To install the CINCH Application Assembly DLL, complete the following steps: 1. Close Microsoft Dynamics GP. The application must not be running when you install an add-in DLL. 2. Place the Application.CinchAg.dll file in the Dynamics GP folder. Typically, the default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP. CINCH.NET DLL s Installation The CINCH.NET DLL s are available in the CINCH download location in the Optional folder. For Unit Train In Installation, please see the Unit Train In Import Installation section for instructions. DTN Integration requires an agreement/fee with DTN to receive quotes. This will entail getting a userid to be entered during configuration of the integration. To install the CINCH.NET DLL s, complete the following steps: 1. Close Microsoft Dynamics GP. The application must not be running when you install the add-in DLL s. 2. Place the CINCH.NET DLL s in the AddIns folder.
Place the appropriate DLL s for the required CINCH functionality into the GP\AddIns folder. Typically, the default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\AddIns. Please refer to the list of optional CINCH.NET DLL s in the Optional CINCH.NET AddIns Components section. Unit Train In Import Installation The Unit Train In Import option in CINCH has a separate installation file and SQL script. The file UnitTrainInImport11.4C.msi is available in the CINCH download location in the Optional folder. You must complete the CINCH Application Assembly DLL s Installation prior to running the Unit Train In Import installation. To install the Unit Train In Import, complete the following steps: 1. Start the Unit Train In Import installer. Launch UnitTrainInImport11.4C.msi. 2. View the welcome screen. Click Next to continue. 3. Select the Installation Folder. The location of the installation of Microsoft Dynamics GP will be selected (the location will default to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\). Select User permissions. Click Next to continue. 4. Confirm installation. Click Next to begin installing the Unit Train In Import components. 5. Installation Complete. Click Close to finish the installation.
Chapter 5: Optional AgWorks Integration This chapter describes the optional AgWorks Integration with CINCH. The AgWorks Integration has separate SQL scripts. Please ensure that a current operational AgWorks is installed before continuing with additional steps needed for CINCH integration. To install the AgWorks Integration, complete the following steps: 1. Copy SQL scripts to folder named IRDSQL in the application directory. The default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\. The SQL scripts are located in the CINCH download location in the AgWorks(128) 12.2.6 folder. The scripts are named IRAgworksDBInstallForAgworksIntegrationR114.sql and IRCinchDBInstallForAgWorksIntegrationR114.sql. 2. Copy.dll file to the IRDSQL folder and register the file. The.dll file is located in the CINCH download location in the AgWorks(128) 12.2.6 folder. The file is named IRDSQLExec.dll. Refer to CINCH Sales Seed Software System Manual for the additional steps needed to complete the integration.
Chapter 6: Optional EMI Equipment Interface Installation The EMI Equipment Interface provides the interface with scale systems, flow meters and grain testers. The EMI Equipment Interface is a separate installation file. The file is located at the CINCH download location in the Optional folder. This chapter describes the optional installation. EMI Equipment Interface Installation 1. If running a previous version of EMI Equipment Interface, remove the program using Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. EMI Equipment Interface should be re-installed with each new CINCH or CINCH Remote Scale version. EMI Equipment Interface Installation needs to be run on the machine running the Dynamics Client. 2. Launch the EMIEquipmentInterfaceSetup11.4.msi. 3. Click Next on the Welcome to the EMI Equipment Interface 11.4 Setup Wizard. 4. Select the Installation Folder a. Select the installation folder. The default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\. i. When installing with CINCH Remote Scale the default location is (C:\Program Files\Cinch Scale\). b. Select permission access for anyone logging into the computer. i. Everyone is for anyone logging into the computer. ii. Just me is only for the user logged in during installation. c. Select Next 5. Select Next to Confirm Installation 6. Select Close when Installation is Complete 7. If this is a new EMI Equipment Interface Installation refer to CINCH Grain Software System Manual for additional setup. a. The Interface Setup chapter covers Scale Maintenance and Grain Tester Maintenance. b. The Sales/Outbound Setup chapter covers the Flow Meter Maintenance. 8. Open the Grain Tester Interface (Start Menu> Programs> EMI Grain Tester Interface> Grain Tester Interface)
a. The Server Name field contains the list of local SQL servers for user selection. b. The User Name field is the user s Cinch User login name. c. The Password field is the user s Cinch Password. d. The Company Name field contains a list of the Cinch companies on the selected server. e. The Grain Tester 1 field contains a list of the Pre-Post and Live Mode Grain testers. The lists of Pre-Post and Live testers come from setup done in Grain Tester Maintenance. f. The Grain Tester 2 field contains a list of the Pre-Post and Live Mode Grain Testers. The lists of Pre-Post and Live testers come from setup done in Grain Tester Maintenance. g. The Show popup notification when data is received checkbox, when checked, will allow a balloon window to display received results coming from the Pre-Post and Live Testers. h. The Warn if Grain Tester time does not match system time checkbox, when checked, will direct the system to display a warning when the tester time and system time differ more than 30 minutes. i. The Launch data collection application when Windows starts checkbox, when checked, will launch the Grain Tester Interface application automatically. j. The Save Dynamics login information checkbox, when checked, will save the user login information encrypting the password. k. The Run Grain Tester 2 checkbox, when checked, will enable the second tester for dual tester operation. This only needs to be launched once to run two testers in Pre- Post and Live mode.
l. The Application log file: i. The <EMIGrainTester_windowsusername.log> file will reside in the user s TEMP folder. ii. Archiving the log file when it reaches 1MB in size will be done with the file <ArchiveEMIGrainTester_windowsusername.log> overwriting an existing archive log file. When running through a RDP connection, the Local Resources, Local Devices setting Serial Ports must be selected. The Grain Tester Settings window must be running and one of the Grain Testers selected must be a Live tester in order for the Live mode to work. m. Upon receiving results from the tester, if Cinch is not yet open a warning message is displayed warning the user Live mode is unable to connect to Cinch. i. The results will be available to be selected in the Grain Sample Lookup if no destination window is found. n. Upon receiving results from the tester, if there are multiple windows open with a matching item, a warning message is displayed prompting the user to select results manually for to the desired window. i. The results will be available to be selected in the Grain Sample Lookup if multiple windows are open that have live mode setup. o. Upon receiving results from the tester, if Cinch is open but there isn t a Live mode capable window open a warning message is displayed prompting the user that no destination window was found.
i. The results will be available to be selected in the Grain Sample Lookup if no destination window is found. VB COM Scale Interface Installation The VB COM Scale Interface is used only if you are experiencing issues with the speed on the Scale Objects. Please contact CINCH Support to determine if this is required and obtain the install file. 1. Launch the EMIScaleObjects114Setup.msi. 2. Click Next on the Welcome to the EMI Scale Objects 11.4 Setup Wizard. 3. Select the Installation Folder a. Select the installation folder. The default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\. i. When installing with CINCH Remote Scale the default location is (C:\Program Files\Cinch Scale\). b. Select permission access for anyone logging into the computer. i. Everyone is for anyone logging into the computer. ii. Just me is only for the user logged in during installation. c. Select Next 4. Select Next to Confirm Installation 5. Select Close when Installation is Complete 6. Microsoft Dynamics GP, General Setup the Use VB COM Scale Interface checkbox must be selected to enable the interface.
Chapter 7: EMI CINCH Data Import/Export This chapter explains how to install and use the EMI CINCH Data Import Export. The application provides the ability to import and export data between CINCH and CINCH Remote Scale. The EMI CINCH Data Import Export is a separate installation file. Data Import / Export Installation The Scale Data Export option in CINCH has a separate installation file. EMI.Cinch.DataImportExport is available in the CINCH download location in the Optional folder. 1. Install the Cinch Application DLL a. Close Microsoft Dynamics. The application must not be running when you install an add-in DLL b. Place the Application.CinchAg.dll file in the Dynamics GP folder. Typically, the default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP. 2. If not running Office 2007, run the AccessDatabaseEngine.exe to install the Microsoft Office 2007 Access Database. 3. Install the Data Import/Export a. Launch the EMI.Cinch.DataImportExort.msi b. Click Next on the Welcome to EMI.CinchDataImportExport wizard. i. Select Installation Folder, the location of the of Microsoft Dynamics GP installation. The default location is (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\). c. Select permission access for anyone logging into the computer. i. Everyone is for anyone logging into the computer. ii. Just me is only for the user logged in during installation. iii. Select Next to continue. d. Select Next to Confirm Installation. e. Select Close when Installation is Complete. Data Export This section describes the use of the EMI CINCH Data Import Export to export data from CINCH. Refer to CINCH Remote Scale Manual, Data Import, for information about importing into CINCH Remote Scale and information about the available files. 1. Open Import Export (Microsoft Dynamics GP>Tools>Routines> Cinch Grain>Scale Data Export) a. If running Intellego or Grain Management the window (Cinch Scale Data Export) will be accessed by adding a window shortcut.)
2. Click the button to select export file name and location. 3. Select a file(s) to export. a. Select file and the > button to select a single file to export. File will be moved to the pane on the right. b. Select the >> to select all available files to export. Files will be moved to the pane on the right. c. Select file and the < button to remove a single file from the export list. File will be removed from the pane on the right. d. Select the << to remove all available files from the export list. Files will be removed from the pane on the right. Customer, Vendor and Item exports have no filters on the export data, all records that exist in CINCH will be exported. The data is exported to an access database, this can be used to view and potentially remove unwanted data prior to importing into the Remote Scale. Or these records can be exported/imported using CINCH Document Exchange. 4. Select the Export button to export the files. a. Status will show Export Complete when complete. 5. Clear Data will remove export data from the data files.

CINCH Portal The installation instructions can be found in the CINCH Portal manual. CINCH Insight The installation instructions can be found in the CINCH Insight manual.
