2015-2016 OMAHA ATHLETICS THE ONE FUND CAMPAIGN MAVERICKS GIVE 110% 2015-2016 Campaign Chairs: Anna and George Little MAVERICKS GIVE 110%

MAVERICKS GIVE 110% AUSTIN ORTEGA (Hockey) Junior, Majoring in Exercise Science Escondido, CA WE WILL GIVE 110% ON THE ICE." "UNO is here, and it's an important place to be. Help the Mavericks and Give 110%!" Howard L. Hawks Chairman, Facility Development Corporation Chairman, Tenaska, Inc. University of Nebraska Board of Regents BOSTON BOUND Congrats to the 2014-15 UNO Hockey Team for qualifying for its first NCAA Frozen Four appearance!

CONTENTS Dear Maverick Supporter, A new era has begun for Omaha Athletics as we are officially a Division I athletic department. By reaching this significant milestone, all sports will finally be eligible for Summit League and NCAA Championships. Our progress to this point would not have been possible without our supporters - The One Fund donors, season ticket holders and corporate sponsors - who play such a prominent role in the success of our athletic programs and the lives of our student-athletes. We can t thank you enough for your commitment to making UNO Athletics and the Omaha community a top priority. THE ONE FUND 4 Your Benefits 5 Scholarship Support 6 Student-Athlete Development 8 2014-15 Donor Recognition 10 Seating Priority and Maverick Loyalty Points 15 It s crucial that we continue to reach out to our community and the more than 45,000 UNO alumni who reside in the greater Omaha area. Their support directly benefits UNO and UNO Athletics. I am excited to announce The One Fund campaign surpassed last year s fundraising goal of $350,000, and it would not have been possible without the leadership of our campaign chairs, Shelley and Mike Homa, and the Maverick community! We are proud to announce that Anna and George Little have agreed to lead this year s campaign for The One Fund. Please turn to page four to learn more about this year s campaign. Our theme for this year's annual campaign is 110%. 110% signifies the campaign's goals of increasing our fundraising 110% as well as increasing our donor base 110%. I hope you help us reach our goals and give 110% of what you gave last year as well as help recruit other supporters to our program. Our athletes and coaches give 110% every day for our fans and alumni. Help us return the favor - give 110% today. Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and generous support of the Omaha community and UNO. Go Mavs! Trev Alberts Vice Chancellor, Athletics UNO Athletics is proud to partner with Baxter Auto to name its new arena Baxter Arena. The partnership between our family and UNO goes back to 1957 when our father, Tal Anderson, was a baseball and basketball player, Baxter Auto Partner Mickey Anderson said. UNO and Omaha are special places, and we are excited that Baxter Arena will serve as a venue for athletics, graduations, concerts and community events. Thank you to everyone at Baxter Auto and the Anderson family for all that you do for UNO Athletics and the Omaha community. 3

TO SUPPORT ALL Gifts to THE ONE FUND are received through one annual campaign. Rather than making several contributions throughout the year to specific booster clubs or the athletic department, donors are asked to make one annual gift to THE ONE FUND. That gift can be directed to the sport or program you prefer, or you can simply give to the athletic department s general fund. Along with the impact your gift will have on student-athletes, THE ONE FUND members also enjoy a variety of benefits. What Your Donation to THE ONE FUND Supports THE ONE FUND serves as the department s annual fund, which provides programmatic support for all 15 varsity sports. Unrestricted and sportspecific gifts made to the annual fund provide the opportunity to meet immediate funding needs that include expenses associated with student-athlete scholarships and development, facilities, travel, equipment and other team-related costs. Annual fund gifts provide a valuable foundation of support that will ensure our department will rise to meet all challenges. We encourage Maverick supporters to donate annually to THE ONE FUND as it will increase your Maverick Loyalty Points for future available tickets in Baxter Arena. For more information about seating priority and Maverick Loyalty Points, please turn to page 15. 2015-2016 CHAIRS PAST CHAIRS "We've set fundraising records each and every year of THE ONE FUND. GIVE 110% TO SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT Every year, college athletics become more and more competitive. Consequently, scholarships that enable the University of Nebraska Omaha to bring the best student-athletes to campus are more important than ever. Athletic scholarships truly make a difference in how well the Mavericks do in academics and their personal development. Please consider becoming a difference maker. Our scholarship athletes make up the core of our team. Your support provides our student-athletes with opportunities that otherwise would not be provided. On behalf of all our student-athletes and coaches, thank you! Jeanne Scarpello, Head Softball Coach I can t stress enough how important scholarships are to Maverick Athletics. Your support of Omaha s Team will provide great opportunities for Omaha s future leaders as they strive for excellence both in the classroom and in athletic competition. Thank you, Omaha! Tyson Thomas, Head Men's Tennis Coach 3.38 UNO had 279 student-athletes competing in the 2014-15 season. Mavericks are excelling in the classroom and the community because of supporters like you! While success on the playing field is important, UNO student-athletes perform just as well in the classroom. There were 126 Nebraska natives playing for UNO in 2014-2015. Maverick student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.38 in 2014-15. In the Fall 2014, 131 student-athletes made the Dean s List (3.5+ GPA) or the Chancellor s List (4.0 GPA). GIVE 110% TO STUDENT-ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT The Student-Athlete Success program is designed to assist student-athletes in making the best possible academic and personal transition to the University of Nebraska Omaha. We are responsible to the student, not for the student. The staff works closely with administrators, coaches, faculty and campus student services personnel to help student-athletes better balance the demands of academic responsibilities with participation in athletics. The services available, congruent with the institution s educational mission and its academic policies and procedures, are designed to recognize the importance of a culturally diverse environment and to facilitate the student s academic commitment, performance and responsibility. It is our purpose to positively influence student-athletes by providing: Academic monitoring Weekly academic progress meetings Mentoring through professional relationships that promote integrity and responsibility through dialogue and example Communication with faculty regarding academic progress, competition travel and general feedback Interpreting UNO and NCAA requirements Tutorial assistance Registration assistance Information and access to institutional support services Life skill and leadership development programming Career development Textbook program Laptop computers for travel First Year Experience course regarding academic and personal development specific to student-athletes Hamilton Academic Excellence Room Academic Enhancement Program (AEP) All new (freshmen and transfer) student-athletes will be required to fulfill a minimum number of weekly AEP hours through the Academic Enhancement Program (AEP). Certain student-athletes that demonstrate a great academic need may be required to participate in additional services beyond the basic AEP hour requirement. Tutoring Program The purpose of the Maverick Student-Athlete Academic Success Tutoring Program is to provide UNO student-athletes with the opportunity to achieve academic success with the support and encouragement of peer tutors. We invite student-athletes to utilize the Tutoring Program to enhance their achievement and improve the quality of their education. Tutoring is not just a resource offered to struggling students, as we strongly encourage our best and brightest students to take advantage of the opportunity to elevate their academic achievement as well. By helping our Student-Athlete Development Program, you are not only helping the future of our studentathletes but also the future of the greater Omaha community. 8

2015-16 SEATING PRIORITY AND MAVERICK LOYALTY POINTS Moving into its inaugural season in Baxter Arena, the UNO athletic department will continue to utilize the Seating Priority and Maverick Loyalty Points system for Maverick fans who are interested in purchasing new season tickets and/or upgrading their current seats for hockey, men s and women s basketball and volleyball. Maverick supporters will first be grouped into one of seven supporting levels based on their support of the 2015-2016 campaign for The One Fund and/or status as a season ticket holder (see Seating Priority table). Within each supporting level, donors and season ticket holders will then receive a specific rank that is based on previous years as an annual donor to The One Fund and their longevity as a season ticket holder (see Maverick Loyalty Points table). Annual donations given during the 2015-2016 campaign will be taken into consideration for fans who want to upgrade and/or purchase tickets for the 2016-2017 athletic seasons. Please keep in mind that all ticket purchases and seat upgrades will be based on availability, and current season ticket holders will be given the first right to renew their seat location in Baxter Arena.
