OM0. General descripion This opical CMOS sensor provides a non-mechanical racking engine for implemening a compuer mouse. On he CMOS IC chip, images are capured, digiized, and hen digially processed. Using an opical navigaion echnology, he sensor measures changes in posiion by opically acquiring sequenial surface images (frames) and mahemaically deermining he direcion and magniude of movemen. The sensor is mouned in a plasic opical package and is designed o be used wih a high inensiy LED. Hence, i provides a complee and compac racking engine. This opical racking engine has no moving pars and requires no precise opical alignmen. Thus, i enables high volume sysem assembly. I offers a quadraure oupu mode for inerface flexibiliy. The racking resoluion is specified a 00 couns per inch (cpi) a raes of moion up o inches per second (ips)..
