Graduate School D Youville College s doctoral program in health administration is for practicing health professionals and educators who strive to shape today s challenging healthcare landscape. Our program will position you to provide leadership in policy formation and problem-solving. Students will be exposed to topics and research that are critical and relevant to healthcare organizations in the 21st century. The health administration doctoral program is designed to prepare individuals with the theoretical foundations, critical analytic skills, applied skills and practical expertise to be effective healthcare leaders. This program builds and expands knowledge, analytic abilities and skills by evaluating current practices, revising or developing strategies for success, and adding to the scholarly base of applied healthcare administration research. our health care infrastructure. With an Ed.D. in health administration from D Youville College, students will be prepared to meet the increasing demand in all sectors of healthcare including academic, nonprofit and government environments. The curriculum involves 72 hours of advanced graduate work. Up to 24 hours of applicable graduate work in a health-related field may be transferred to the degree. The curriculum is comprised of coursework in: healthcare organization finance law and policy epidemiology research methods and analytics human resources health policy Students problem-solve real health care issues, and collaborate in finding practical solutions to dilemmas facing

Health Administration curriculum summary Prerequisites A course in applied statistics or demonstration of minimum competency in applied statistics per written exam. Students not achieving competency will be required to take GRA 602 (Statistics Seminar) at D Youville prior to or concurrent with the research course requirements. That s why we have various forms of financial aid available for all students, such as scholarships, grants and loans. Health administration Application Process Prospective applicants should forward the following materials to the graduate admissions office: A completed online graduate application. Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. In addition to the application procedure, candidates must present the following: Two letters of reference from graduate professors and employers/supervisors focusing on the applicant s potential for success in the doctoral program. Completion of a master s degree, with a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours with grades of B or better. Evidence of active involvement in the health care or health education field (preferably over a period of at least two years), including demonstration of leadership and professionalism in health policy or education. Minimum graduate grade point average of 3.20 (based on a 4.0 system). A brief biographical sketch (500-1,000 words) and written statement of goals for pursuing doctoral study. Applications for admission are considered on a competitive basis.
