The treatment involves the rotary or oscillatory processing of hard and soft tooth substance, bones, and dental prostheses (crowns, inlays, bridges, etc.). The green, blue, and violet contra-angle handpieces are used for prophylaxis. The handpiece and the green and blue contra-angle handpieces are rotary prosthetics. Protect yourself, patients and others against any foreseeable dangers. In order to do so, follow the safety instructions. Use the equipment as intended. You should always keep these operating instructions within reach for further reference. Prevention of infection and cross-contamination Prevent infection and cross-contamination between patients, users, and third parties as follows: Sterilize equipment after each patient. Take the appropriate hygiene measures e.g. wear protective gloves. Emitted cooling air The cooling air emitted by the coupling of the motor must have a flow rate of 1.5-10 Nl/min. To keep the cooling air coming out of the instrument away from the cavity, silicone disks are available [ 13]. Instrument head overheating Malfunction or damage Repair Spare parts and accessories If the instrument is defective, the area around the instrument head may heat up, thus creating a risk of burning the patient's oral mucosa. The burrs and diamond grinders must be clean to prevent dirt from being carried into the clamping system. UTION! loose or partially removed burr instrument can detach itself from the head or break off. This leads to a risk of injury! Therefore, only use the instrument if the burr instrument is at least 10 mm deep and clamped securely in place. UTION! The handpiece must only be operated with the clamping system closed. UTION! Insufficient cooling leads to overheating of the cavity and damage to the tooth substance. Ensure that the water content is > 50ml/min. UTION! o not pull the patient's cheek back with the contra-angle handpiece while the motor is running. This would actuate the pushbutton, thus creating a risk of burning the patient's oral mucosa. UTION! lways operate the contra-angle handpieces with cooling spray when marked with a red dot! 5.1 Replacing the instrument UTION! For T1 LSSI: Risk of injury due to the exposed drive shaft! Never operate the SL or L motor without the straight or contra-angle handpiece. UTION! The instrument should only be fitted or removed when the motor is at standstill. ttaching the T1 LINE The motor has come to a stop. 1. When using a motor with a light groove (): align the nib () of the instrument with the groove of the motor. 2. Turn the center part of the handpiece in the direction of the arrow () up to the stop. 2. When using the contra-angle handpiece burr instrument (): insert the pin () into the handpiece, with the slotted end first. The pin compensates for the difference in length between straight and contra-angle handpiece burr instruments. 3. Insert the burr instrument as far as it will go. E 4. lamp the burr instrument by turning the center part of the handpiece in direction () up to the stop. F When the two marks (E) are located opposite each other, the burr instrument is clamped. When using handpiece burr instruments with detached shaft: ensure that the detached shaft is not lying against the chuck opening (F). 5. The contra-angle handpiece is protected by a special seal system against penetration of polishing paste. Inserting a prophylaxis instrument E 1. Pull the contra-angle handpiece off of the motor. 2. T1 Line: Hold the driver securely in the contra-angle handpiece with the PROPHY key (). T1 LSSI: Insert the PROPHY spray adapter () into the contra-angle handpiece until it snaps into place. Hold the driver securely in the contra-angle handpiece with the PROPHY spray adapter. 3. Screw the screw plug ()/screw-in adapter (E) firmly into the head of the contraangle handpiece. 4. If you use a screw-in adapter, let the tool () snap onto the screw-in adapter. Removing a prophylaxis instrument 1. Pull the contra-angle handpiece off of the motor. 2. T1 Line: Hold the driver securely in the contra-angle handpiece with the PROPHY key. T1 LSSI: Insert the PROPHY spray adapter into the contra-angle handpiece until it snaps into place. Hold the driver securely in the contra-angle handpiece with the PROPHY spray adapter. 3. If you use a snap-on cap, pull the tool from the screw-in adapter. 4. Insert the burr instrument without pressing the pushbutton. 3. Turn the burr instrument back and forth gently until it snaps into place. 4. Push the deflection disk up to the head. 5. Then pull and turn the burr instrument to check that it is firmly seated. Removing a Kirschner-Meyer instrument The burr instrument has come to a stop.
