In case of prolonged non-use, the straight or contra-angle handpiece must be cleaned and cared for in accordance with the instructions. The instrument must be stored in a dry, heated room. The cooling air emitted by the ISO handpiece coupling of the motor must have a flow rate of Nl/min. Use only approved or original replacement and accessory parts. To open the clamping system, turn the center part of the handpiece in the direction of arrow A up to the stop. Insert the handpiece instrument up to the stop. Maximum water flow is set when the two marks stand opposite one another. ATTENTION During preparation work, a sufficient amount of cooling media (water component > 50 ml/min) must always be available. Insufficient cooling leads to overheating of the cavity and to damage to the tooth substance. i NOTE Operate only with filtered water (< 50 µm). You need the appropriate repair kit with tools for 1D, 2D or 3D for that purpose. First, remove the burr from the head and clean off any deposits from the front head end. Then, using the spray key (1)* unscrew the spray screw (2) counterclockwise. The spray key is suitable for both FG handpieces (thin guide mandrel A) and WB handpieces (thick guide mandrel B) D

Thoroughly clean the air/water mixing chamber (C) in the C head; if necessary, carefully clear the air and water ducts with the cleaning wire (5). To do this, push the spray insert fully into the push-on sleeve and slide on a new O-ring. ATTENTION The O-ring must not lie in the ring duct (D). Next, spray the O-ring with T1 spray, determine the position of the spray nozzle(s) and plug the spray insert onto the head. Using the spray key, tighten the spray insert firmly with a new spray screw. ATTENTION Otherwise there is a risk that the cover may come off and fall into the patient s pharynx together with the turbine block and the burr instrument. Only instrument disinfectants which have been tested and approved by correspondingly authorized national committees or have been proven to have bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties may be selected. The thermodisinfector used must be approved by its manufacturer for the thermodisinfection of straight/contra-angle dental handpieces and comply with pren ISO (e.g. 95 C (203 F) and 10 min. holding time). If the device is still soiled after disinfection, the cleaning process must be repeated. The instrument must be completely free from residues and dry prior to any further conditioning.
