Instructions for Using Encrypted Email Services This document is being provided to assist you in opening encrypted emails sent from Century Bank. The following screens may be somewhat different depending on the browser that you are using, the settings within your browser, firewall rules and the mailbox settings with your Internet Service Provider. For Gmail users: Please see specific instructions at the end of this document. If you have problems opening an encrypted email from Century Bank, please contact the sender of the message for assistance. When you open the email, the following screen will be displayed. FROM: customer.service@centurybnk.com SENT: 01/01/10 TO: johnjanedoe@email.com To open (decrypt) a secure email from Century Bank, click on the SecureMessageAtt.html link in the attachments section of the email. Some browsers will display a logo.gif and a lock.gif in the attachments. This occurs because of security settings within the browser. Some browsers also display a second image box with a click to read message button. This is just an image and the email will not Page 2
open if you try to click on this button. You must click on the SecureMessageAtt.html link in the attachments section of the email to open the encrypted email. When you click on SecureMessageAtt.html attachment in the message, the following pop-up box may be displayed by your browser. You have a choice to Open, Save, or Cancel. The desired action is to "Open" the file, which will actually open a new browser window (or browser tab) that will take you to the Proofpoint Secure Email site. Do not click on "Save" as this will result in a copy of the Proofpoint Secure Email site webpage being downloaded onto your computer. Even though the file is small, and double-clicking the saved file will open a new browser window taking you to the Proofpoint Secure E-mail website, this file is only associated with this particular secure e-mail - it will not allow you to login or open any other secure e- mails. If you click on "Cancel", no action will be taken and you will be returned to your inbox. Click Open and the following screen will be displayed. Page 3
Double click on the Click to read message box. First Time Users The first time you receive an encrypted email from Century Bank, you will be asked to create your account to read secure email. The following screen will be displayed. Page 4
johnjanedoe@email.com Enter your first and last name. When you tab to Password, the Password Policy is displayed to identify the password requirements. The password you establish will not expire and can be used to open subsequent encrypted emails sent to you from Century Bank. Page 5
doe Select a question and provide a corresponding answer to the selected question. This will be used to help you to reset your password if you forget it. Select the continue button. Page 6

If you click on this help button, you can browse the contents of the online help document. Logout will end the secure email session. You can Reply or Reply all. Either of these actions sends a secure email. You can also attach (Add) a file which will be sent back to the sender encrypted as well. You will be prompted to browse out to the file and then upload. You can retain a copy of the reply, by clicking on the Send Me a Copy box. However, when you try to open the email at a later date, you will be redirected to the secure website where you will be required to login to open the saved copy. Page 7

You can either return to the message or logout of the secure email session. Page 9
If you have already registered If you have already gone through the registration process, you will be prompted to sign in and provide your password to decrypt the message. johnjanedoe@email.com ************** Once the correct password is entered, the secure email is displayed. Page 10
If you do not logout of the session, the session will timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity. Page 11
Forgotten Passwords If you cannot remember the password you used when you registered your account, you can use the Forgot Password link on the login screen to create a new password for your account. johnjanedoe@email.com The next screen displays and you are prompted for the answer to your secret question: Page 12
Once you answer the question correctly, you will get the password change screen and you can establish a new password. Page 13
johnjanedoe@email.com If you cannot remember the answer to the secret question, you must call the sender of the message to have the account reset. Once the account is reset, you will be prompted to complete the registration screen again. Page 14
Gmail Accounts As a security precaution Gmail does not allow the download of several file types without zipping the contents first. HTML files happen to be one of those file types. You should see a link under the encrypted message box, Open as a Google Document similar to what is presented below. You should click to Download the attachment. Page 15
Gmail presents a File Download message box with a file name of SecureMessageAtt_html.zip. You must first download the.zip file and once the download is complete, select "Open" from the three options IE provides. This will open an explorer (or possibly a WinZip) window and then the.html file can be double clicked to access the secure message. Page 16
