City of Florence and enablers After the interactions based on the tree data, the Municipality conducted a preliminary review of Generic Enablers and ENVIROFI Specific Enablers The scope of the review is to identify enablers of primary interest for the Municipality in the context of further promotion and exploitation of the Open Data initiative
Preliminary review methodology - Reference information was derived from catalogue.fiware.eu and catalogue.envirofi.eu (being aware that the content is in the process of being finalized) - The information was mapped to current and foreseen needs by the City of Florence, with a focus on the Open Data initiative
Preliminary Review Summary Generic Enablers Among others, functionality as semantic annotation would cover a substantial gap in current available technology Specific Enablers Event detection and notification services: Some enablers may be considered, but need to consider integration with pre-existing push infrastructure Fusion tools for heterogeneous data sources: currently no services of this type are active within the Florence infrastructure Geo-referenced data collection applications: promotion of user-generated content is on our to-do list server-side integration to be considered Harvesters, connectors and mediators: may be tested with existing City of Florence services spatial querying & discovery broker/catalogue evolution
Conclusions 1. The Open Data initiative by the Municipality of Florence has a substantial geospatial and environmental component 2. The preliminary analysis conducted on specific enablers highlighted potential exploitation options referred to specific areas of functionality 3. The upcoming three months will allow us to further consolidate this analysis, accounting for testing activities to be conducted in Florence and for the upcoming INSPIRE Conference
