If not, could the Patient Transport Service provide the transport? If you are not sure whether you are eligible to use this service, then ask your GP, dentist, or consultant who maybe able to arrange this transport. welcome If you are attending hospital for an appointment and you are on a low income or on income support then you may be able to claim the cost of your transport. Check with the hospital before travelling if you are not sure whether you are eligible, or ask at the hospital reception desk for more information. This guide includes all three major city hospitals and how to get there by Public Transport. For ease of reference, the hospital pages are colour coded. Queen Alexandra Hospital St.Mary s Hospital St.James Hospital Each of the hospitals have good transport links within Portsmouth and to the surrounding areas. Connections are available and easy to make. This guide explains this. So, how do I start? Choose the hospital you need to travel to. There is a separate plan of the bus routes and stops for each hospital. The next pages explain which buses to use. You can see how often the buses run, and finally for more information contact telephone numbers for bus enquiries are provided. how to use this guide Hovertravel Hovertravel appreciates that sometimes in unfortunate events people will need fast and reliable transportation to hospitals in Portsmouth and therefore have designed three convenient deals available for Isle of Wight customers. A return hovercraft fare from Ryde to Southsea (valid for 90 days) is available for 10.00. With an onwards travel ticket for Stagecoach bus 21 which goes straight to St Marys Hospital for 12.35*. There is also the option to get a return from Ryde to Southsea, with an onwards travel ticket for the Stagecoach bus 20 to QA Hospital for 13.60*.
