BACKGROUND On December 18, 1981, Ridley Terminals Inc. was incrprated under the Canada Business Crpratins Act as a jint undertaking between the federal gvernment and a private firm. On July 31, 1991, the private firm sld all f its shares t Prts Canada. Ridley Terminals Inc. then became a whlly-wned subsidiary f Prts Canada until Octber 31, 2000. On Nvember 1, 2000, Prts Canada was disslved and Ridley Terminals Inc. became a parent Crwn Crpratin. The Minister f Transprt is the respnsible minister fr Ridley Terminals Inc. RESPONSIBILITIES Ridley Terminals Inc. (RTI) wns and perates a marine terminal n Ridley Island in Prince Rupert, B.C. Its train unlading and ship lading infrastructure and equipment are lcated n land leased frm the Prince Rupert Prt Authrity. RTI plays an imprtant rle in supprting Canada s exprt cal business and is pursuing diversificatin int ther bulk cmmdities. INSTITUTIONAL FUNCTIONS, PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES Institutinal Activities Ridley Terminals Inc. is managed by a six member Bard f Directrs. The members are appinted thrugh a Gvernr in Cuncil appintment including the appintment f the Chairpersn. The President and Chief Operating Officer manages the day-t-day peratins and reprts t the Bard. The Operatins Department is led by a Senir Manager wh is respnsible fr all train handling, ship lading, maintenance, safety and security activities and cmputer services nsite.
