Client Requirement The client is an insurance plan provider offering warranty protection plans for home appliances, consumer electronics and automobiles or vehicles. The client wanted us to develop an online CMS system for insurance plan management for enabling their customers to subscribe the insurance plans, manage insurance policies online, claim for policies online and save quotes for various plans. This is a B2C implementation of the client s needs powered with Magento Community Edition. Integrated with easy navigation, one step check out, dynamic pricing and online payment options, it makes the process of online buying of the protection plans easy and fast. Apart from this, client also required mobile application for management of protection plans and required B2B implementation of the same. Client expected the following functionalities to be added to the system: Easy plan search to easily locate a specific vehicle, electronics or appliance plan as per requirement Client specific payment method integration One step checkout Mobile application development with barcode and credit card scanner features Quotations and dynamic pricing apply Dashboard, Blog & Newsletter The customers can create an account and become a member. They can browse through and find relevant protection plan for their needs, subscribe it online and then move through the checkout process faster with credit card payment possible online. They will be able to track their orders, view past orders and check status of present order too. Customers can also sign up for newsletter from their login account. Planning Keeping in mind the structure of the website, the following development approach was adopted for this project to ensure that a simple yet a fully featured Magento CMS system and mobile application for insurance plan management could be established for the requirements of the client. Initially the developers studied and clearly understood the requirements of the client. Development Highlights The main objective of the project was to launch a Magento website for insurance plan management with a custom design. The project was completed within the promised timelines successfully thereby saving time for our client to get a full-featured online CMS system to market its services.
