He has undertaken a wide variety of projects for the commercial, mining and industrial sectors and Federal, State and Local Governments. These projects have encompassed a range of technical areas including water quality management, solid, liquid and hazardous waste treatment and disposal, contaminated land assessment and remediation, environmental impact assessment, environmental auditing and management, water supply development, land use assessment and geotechnical investigations. He has successfully managed projects of values up to $40 million, relating to assets valued in excess of $100 million. He has undertaken management of a number of significant resource planning, development and management projects, including regional water quality strategy development, environmental impact assessment studies and environmental management plans and strategies for major public infrastructure, mining, industrial and site remediation operations. Projects have involved a wide range and large number of government, industry and community stakeholders and extensive consultation work and consensus building activities. He has also conducted public and private sector value for service management system reviews and audit programs for the purposes of assessing and improving management practices, visioning and developing forward business plans, assessing regulatory compliance, reducing potential liabilities and providing due diligence information to Councils / corporations. He is certified auditor and third party reviewer, experienced in the design, implementation and analysis of environmental sampling and monitoring programs and has undertaken design, supervision and management of hazardous waste remedial work programs and the detailed analysis of site clean-up standards.

Management System Reviews and Environmental Auditing Conduct of value for service management system reviews and environmental audit programs for a wide variety of industry and public sector clients, including local government, manufacturing, chemical, electronics, property and other industrial / commercial operations. Projects have ranged from work with single workgroups to establishments with large business portfolios valued in excess of $100 million. Work has been carried out for the purposes of assessing the value of work practices and service delivery, visioning and planning with team members to develop forward business plans, assessing regulatory compliance, reducing potential liabilities and providing due diligence information in relation to company assets and operations. Outputs have included improved work practices, financial performance and service delivery and the provision of due diligence information prior to purchase and divestment, by both private sale and public offering. Projects have been carried out for operations in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia and the UK. Contaminated Land Assessment and Remediation Assessment, management and remediation of a wide range of contaminated sites. Projects have ranged from due diligence reports for property transactions to major clean-up and site management projects. Technical studies have included soil and groundwater sampling, design and installation of groundwater monitoring bore networks, in-situ soil vapour quality determination, hydrogeological and hydrogeochemical analysis, determination of site clean-up standards and design, implementation and validation of remedial work programmes. Projects have been undertaken for a variety of industry sectors in Australia and South East Asia, including major power generation authorities, retail oil and gas, chemical, manufacturing, electronics, agricultural, mining and mineral processing, property transfer, land development and local government. Projects include: Management of Willawong Waste Disposal Site Remediation Project, for Brisbane City Council (project value approximately $30 million). Contaminated Land Assessment and Remediation Plan for former major industrial sites in Queensland for a variety of major public companies (project values ranging from approximately $50,000 to $20 million). DERM appointed independent Third Party Reviewer for contaminated land management for major inner city property re-development projects, Brisbane. Water and Waste Management Investigation, design, costing, construction supervision, monitoring, evaluation and project management (including liaison with regulatory authorities) of a variety of water and waste management projects, involving solid wastes, liquid industrial and hazardous waste, mine tailings, wastewaters, sludges, mineral processing, industrial, commercial and domestic operations for a number of private and public sector projects in Australia. Projects have included landfill gas feasibility studies and recovery investigations, leachate characterisation, landfill design and siting. Projects include: Management of New Industrial Liquid Waste Treatment Plant Project for Brisbane City Council (project value approximately $15 million). Water Supply Development and Management Appraisal, investigation, design, construction supervision and management of groundwater supplies ranging from 200 to 20,000 ML per annum. Review, investigation and analysis of water supply and distribution systems and water usage. Work has included conceptual desk studies, exploration/development program formulation, drilling supervision, test pumping, data interpretation, computer modelling, drilling contract preparation, wellfield construction supervision, supply reliability studies, wellfield performance reviews, project management of water supply systems, water usage reviews and preparation of Government reports for licensing purposes. Projects have included groundwater supply studies for various small to large scale mining projects in North and Central Queensland, New South Wales and South East Asia. Mine Water Inflow Control Investigations Drilling supervision, piezometer installation, test pumping, hydraulic analysis, computer modelling, predictive studies of groundwater mine pit inflow potential, instability due to seam pressurisation and hydrogeological water balance calculations and modelling for various open pit and dredge pond mining operations. Work has been carried out for various gold, coal, mineral sands, bauxite, mangnesite and kaolin mining operations in North and Central Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. Geotechnical Investigations Drilling, permeability testing, pit logging, sampling and field testing, laboratory analysis and testing with respect to site foundation conditions, embankment construction materials identification and delineation and general characterisation of subsurface conditions. Work has been carried out for various mining and civil works projects in North, Central and Southeast Queensland.
