Common Metrics Caveats Cal-PASS Plus For all momentum points where the source of data is Cal-PASS Plus (CPP), information for the metric is based on data submitted to Cal-PASS Plus and reflect activity for students who were reported in the Cal-PASS Plus data set for enrollments in high school and four-year institutions. Given that this data is voluntarily submitted to CPP, metrics may contain missing data and/or is incomplete. To view the list of high school data available for the selected college please visit the Cal-PASS Plus website at https://www.calpassplus.org/calpass/join/members.aspx. Data Comparisons In addition to providing college-level views of each of the momentum points in the Common Metrics tab, the Common Metrics tab provides users with the option to compare the collegelevel data with Baseline, Regional, and Statewide data. Data used in the comparisons are based on the same data source(s) for each momentum point using the same methodology to derive the data. The following provides a brief description on each of the comparison types available. Base Funding Year Comparisons: Data are based on the same methodology used for the metric in the selected year, using data from the 2011-2012 academic year. The data displayed in this year is the data that all grantees will be using as their baseline year. Regional Comparisons: Data are based on the same methodology used for the metric in the selected college, using data from all colleges in the same Doing What Matters region as the selected college. Statewide Comparisons: Data are based on the same methodology used for the metric in the selected college, using data from all colleges in the California Community College system. Momentum Points MP 1: Completed an individual career and skills awareness workshop in middle school that included a normed assessment process and was in a Doing What MATTERS priority or emerging sector Cluster: Middle School Middle school students who completed an individual career and skills awareness workshop that included a normed assessment process and were associated with the selected program at the selected college. Grantee activity reporting This metric is a leading indicator. Information will not be included in the LaunchBoard. MP 2: Completed a bridge program between middle school and high school and revised student career/education plan Cluster: Transition from Middle School to High School Values Middle school students who completed a bridge program before starting high school and revised their student career/education plan and were associated with the selected program at the selected college. MP 4: Completed one course in high school within a CTE pathway Cluster: High School High school students in the same Doing What Matters region as the selected college who completed at least one course in the same CTE pathway as the selected program. Cal-PASS Plus Anytime up to the selected academic year Data in this metric reflects the number of students in grades 9 through 12 who were enrolled in the selected year who completed at least one course in the selected program prior to and up to the selected year. Alignment of high school and college pathways was determined by a crosswalk of high school and community college codes established by the Chancellor s Office and the Centers of Excellence. Cal-PASS Plus Data in this metric reflects the number of students in grades 9 through 12 who were enrolled in the selected year who completed at least two courses in the selected program prior to and up to the selected year. Alignment of high school and college pathways was determined by a crosswalk of high school and community college codes established by the Chancellor s Office and the Centers of Excellence. The numerator of the percentage includes the count of the students in the denominator who enrolled in a remedial Math or English course at any college in the CCC system anytime up to the selected year. Alignment of high school and college pathways was determined by a crosswalk of high school and community college codes established by the Chancellor s Office and the Centers of Excellence.
