1 PERKINS POSTSECONDARY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Shinlan Liu New Jersey Department of Education

2 1P1 Technical Skill Attainment Denominator: Number of CTE concentrators who completed the CTE programs and took the available, appropriate, third party, industry aligned end of program technical skill assessments during the reporting year. Numerator: Number of CTE concentrators who completed the CTE programs and passed the available, appropriate, third party, industry aligned end of program technical skill assessments during the reporting year.

3 Definition from the VEDS Data Dictionary Status Enter: 1 = Participant-CTE Major -- A postsecondary student (part-time or full-time) who is matriculated in a NJDOE approved CTE major in an AS, AAS, AFA, Certificate, or Certificate of Achievement program and who by the end of Spring semester of the school year, has completed at least one or more college-level course(s). These students cannot have DEGREE TYPE = 6 (AA), 7 (Other Associate Degree) or 8 (Non-Matriculated).

These students cannot have DEGREE TYPE = 6 (AA), 7 (Other Associate Degree) or 8 (Non- Matriculated).

Students with STATUS = 1 or 3 must report a degree type of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. 1 = Certificate of Achievement 2 = Certificate 3 = A.S. Degree (Associate in Science Degree) 4 = A.A.S. (Associate in Applied Science Degree) 5 = A.F.A. (Associate in Fine Arts) 6 = A.A. (Associate in Arts) 7 = Other Associate Degree (E.g., A.R.A.) 8 = Non-Matriculated

13 3P1 Student Retention or Transfer Denominator: Number of CTE concentrators who were enrolled in postsecondary education in the fall of the previous reporting year and who did not earn an industry-recognized credential, a certificate, or a degree in the previous reporting year.

14 3P1 Student Retention or Transfer Numerator: Number of CTE concentrators who remained enrolled in their original postsecondary institution or transferred to another two- or four-year postsecondary institution during the reporting year and who were enrolled in postsecondary education in the fall of the previous year, and who did not earn an industry recognized credential, a certificate, or a degree in the previous reporting year.

16 4P1 Student Placement Denominator: Number of CTE concentrators who completed the CTE programs one year before the reporting year and who have valid social security numbers. Numerator: Number of CTE concentrators who completed the CTE programs and were identified with their social security numbers to be placed or retained in employment, or placed in military service or apprenticeship programs in the second quarter following the program year in which they completed CTE postsecondary education program.
