Enroll in online banking services Enroll in Online Banking at (click on Enroll on the top red bar and enter your information) - Required Activate your Estatements by clicking on the Estatement Button and complete enrollment. If you selected to make your first deposit after account opening, use the bank s mobile app to deposit a $10 money order check (Not Moneygram) or mail a deposit to: Washington Savings Bank 30 Middlesex Street Lowell, MA 01844 Attn: Online Teller You must make a deposit within 10 business days of account opening or the account will be closed. Activate your Direct Deposit A direct deposit is required from payroll or government benefit, please use the enclosed form. If your employer requires a check attached to the form, please place a check order with your financial coach for only $6.95. Note: You must have adequate funds in your account to place your check order. Sign and Return your account signature card A signature card will be mailed to you. Please sign and mail back in the envelope provided. checks and other items you may sign, Not returning the signature card may limit your ability to write checks. Frequently Asked Questions Can I apply for a Rewards Card Checking Account from any state? Yes, Rewards Card Checking Accounts are available to anyone inside the United States who is a U.S. citizen. Is Direct Deposit Required? Yes, direct deposit is required for this account. If you do not activate direct deposit within 60 days from account opening, your account will be closed. Is there a monthly maintenance fee? Yes, a monthly fee of $9.95 will be imposed every statement cycle, a direct deposit of payroll or government benefit is required for this account. Keep in mind, you also earn unlimited debit card cash rewards, so you may earn more on rewards than the monthly fee! After 6 months of satisfactory account history, you can convert your account to a lower monthly fee of only $4.95! What if I need customer assistance with a problem? Online support with your bank coach is free. Real time phone support is available for an additonal $4.95 per month. If you call or visit the branch, you will automatically activate the live support plan for an additonal $4.95 per month. How does this compare to a prepaid card? This is a checking account that has a debit card linked to it. Just like a prepaid card, you can use the card anywhere Mastercard is accepted, but you also have the benefits of one low monthly fee with no deposit (load) fees or ATM fees if you use the Allpoint network. This account should be much cheaper than a prepaid card and it s a real checking account. How do I make deposits? There s several ways to make deposits The easiest way is setting up direct deposit, which we ll help you set up. Direct deposit is required. To deposit a check, you can use our mobile check deposit APP or use the old fashioned way of mail. Note: Mobile deposits have a 5 business day hold and the service is limited to $10 per day until direct deposit starts. After direct deposit starts, you ll have a $500 per day limit after 3 months of activity. If you need to deposit cash, simply buy an inexpensive money order check available at most convenience stores and use our mobile check deposit service. A faster way to deposit cash is to use Western Union to transfer money into your account. Western Union charges a fee for this service. What are the restrictions for mobile deposits? Since mobile deposit has a high risk of fraud to the bank there are some additional conditions for us to trust you with it. The service is limited to $10 per day until direct deposit is activated. This is so you can fund your account and order checks. We limit mobile deposits to a maximum of $500 per day after 3 months of activity. We can increase this over time with good account history. There is a delay of funds until we know the deposit is legitimate. We always verify mobile deposits and reserve the right to place an extended hold if we doubt collectability of the check. Generally mobile deposits are available after 5 business days. Why are there restrictions for mobile deposits? In a nutshell, it s very risky to the bank

The standard design is free and you can even upgrade to over 85 designer cards for a small fee. Your daily limits are $300 via ATM withdrawal or $750 debit card purchase. The debit card portion of your card is not activated until direct deposit is activated on your account. Is it possible to overdraw my account? Yes. You won t receive overdraft fees, but there are some situations in which your account can be overdrawn. For example, a returned deposit item after we ve made funds available to you and the money has been spent. Some debit card transactions can be forced through and the monthly maintenance fee will be charged to your account regardless of balance. You are obligated to cover overdrafts on your account. Can I add a joint owner? Yes. You may add a joint owner to the account using our ADD A JOINT OWNER form once your account has been opened at least 30 days and is funded. Do I receive full online banking privileges? No, these are risker accounts for the bank so we limit some online services such as bank to bank transfers, person to person transfers, and mobile deposit. With online banking you see your activity, statements, and use bill payment. It even has some money management tools to help you manage your money better. Check out our online videos of the services. Can I open a savings account too? Yes. You may open a savings account after your checking account has been opened for at least 90 days and your account is in good standing. Our National Savings Account has no monthly minimum balance with a small $1.95 monthly fee.
