The Radio Equipmen and Telecommunicais Terminal Equipmen Direcive 99/5/EC (R&TTE Direcive) was implemened in he Unied ingdom (U) he 8 pril 2000 by The Radio Equipmen and Telecommunicais Terminal Equipmen Regulais, Sauory Insrumen (SI) 730. In accordance wih ricles 4. and 7.2 of Direcive 999/5/EC, his U Inerface Requiremen cains he requiremens for he licensing and use of privae business mobile radio sysems in he specified frequency bands.. Nohing in his U Inerface Requiremen shall preclude he need for equipmen o comply wih he requiremens of Direcive 999/5/EC..3 I is required by he Wireless Telegraphy c 949 ha no radio equipmen shall be insalled or used in he U, excep under he auhoriy of a licence graned (or license exemped) by Ofcom. I is a cdii of such a licence (or exempi order) ha he equipmen mus mee he minimum requiremens specified in his U Inerface Requiremen for he saed equipmen ypes and for he saed frequency bands..4 The crieria given in he main body of his U Inerface Requiremen will apply in he licensing of privae business mobile radio in he U. ll frequency bands adminisered by Ofcom in he U for business radio are covered..5 This U Inerface Requiremen will be revised as necessary, for example o follow: i) curren echnology developmens for reass relaed o he effecive and appropriae use of he specrum in paricular maximising specrum uilisai; and ii) changes o he available specrum allocaed for privae business mobile radio sysems..6 ll U Inerface Requiremens noified under Direcive 98/34/EC will be published. ll approved documenai will be made available free of charge from he Ofcom websie.
