The questions they posed and responses are included below. 1. Number of full-time students in transfer level STEM courses Biology (BIOL), Computer Science (C S), Chemistry (CHEM), Engineering (ENGR), Mathematics (MATH) and Physics (PHYS). 2013-14 Students BIOL 1,171 C S 728 CHEM 1,072 ENGR 176 MATH 2,662 PHYS 514 Total 6,323 Note: Full-time = 12 or more units attempted. Transfer level courses are course numbers between 1 and 99. Includes individual students, not course enrollment. Includes students who received a final grade. 2. Average GPA of students in at least 2 STEM Courses in 2013-2014- Biology (BIOL), Computer Science (C S), Chemistry (CHEM), Engineering (ENGR), Mathematics (MATH) and Physics (PHYS) Excluding basic skills 9,439 students were enrolled in STEM courses in 2013-14, of these student 4,886 were enrolled in 2 or more STEM courses. Average GPA = 3.04 Note: Includes course numbers between 1 and 199, excludes 200 level courses. Cumulative GPA for students enrolled in STEM courses in 2013-14. Includes students who received a final grade. 3. Average GPA of students who declared a STEM major in 2013-14 General Studies: Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Mathematics for Transfer, Physics, Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Engineering 2,876 students declared a STEM major in 2013-14 Average GPA = 2.48

Note: Cumulative GPA for students enrolled in STEM courses in 2013-14. Includes students primary declared major. Non STEM Majors: 28,303 students declared a major other than STEM in 2013-14 Average GPA = 2.14 4. Transfer rates of STEM Majors who were enrolled in 2012-13. 1,424 students declared a STEM major in 2012-13, of these students, 996 student records were matched to enrollment at a 2- or 4-year college. Of the 996 students with a record, 364 (37%) of these students transferred to a four-year university by summer 2014. Note: To calculate transfer rates, students would have to have been enrolled the previous year, if enrolled in 2013-14 and transfer, their transfer rates would not show up until late September. 5. Number of STEM Majors who have a degree previously in 2013-14. Of the 2,876 students who declared a STEM major in 2013-14, 613 (21%) have received an AA/AS, BA/BS or graduate degree previously. 6. Average number of years for STEM majors for students who completed a degree in 2013-14. Of the 1,424 students who declared a STEM major in 2012-13, 63 received a degree/certificate in 2012-13. Of these students, on average, it took them 2.6 years to complete the degree/certificate. Note: To calculate completion rates, students would have to have been enrolled the previous year, if enrolled in 2013-14 and obtained a degree, their degree would not show up in the system until late September.
