General Requirements for Applicants and Recipients By April 15, 2015: Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) o Choose Mohave Community College as a recipient of the FAFSA Complete the online Mohave Community College Application By June 1, 2015: Accept scholarship award and submit thank you letter to donor Enroll as a full time student, twelve or more credit hours per semester To continue receiving your scholarship for the award period: Recipients must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA at MCC each semester Deferment: A student offered an Academic may have the scholarship held in deferment for up to two years if serving in the United States Military, Peace Corp, as a VISTA volunteer, or church service. The student must identify themselves by providing the financial aid office with verification of this service in order to request a deferment. Once identified, the student will be sent a notice informing him/her they must answer four questions pertaining to their request via Net Partner. Employee tuition benefits: A tuition waiver recipient is not eligible to receive a tuition waiver benefit and college-funded scholarships and/or awards for tuition concurrently in any semester (MCC PPM 4.130.03.01).

Mohave Community College Institutional s Mohave Community College offers an array of academic scholarships to new and continuing students based on academic merit. These scholarships are generously funded by the MCC Board of Governors. Funds are limited and will be awarded until funds are exhausted. Apply early to receive the best consideration. Academic s for High School Graduates in Mohave County Academic s are given to newly graduated high school students from Mohave County who have achieved academically as evidenced by cumulative high school grade point average. High School Award Award Amount Award Length Cumulative GPA 3.8 4.0 President s High Honors s $2,000 2 years 3.4 3.79 Dean s Academic $1,500 1 year 3.0 3.39 Academic Honors $1,000 1 year Recipients must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA at MCC each semester to continue receipt of scholarship for award length listed above. Academic s for Continuing and Returning Students Academic s will be available to MCC continuing & returning students based on the following criteria. Credit Hours Earned MCC Cumulative GPA Award Amount 20 48 3.5 4.0 $1,000 Recipients must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA at MCC each semester to continue receipt of scholarship for award length listed above. Resident Faculty s Resident Faculty s will be awarded based on the following criteria and upon recommendation of resident faculty. Credit Hours Earned MCC Cumulative GPA Other Criteria Award Amount 20 48 3.0 4.0 Outstanding work in academics, talent or college service as highlighted by recommendation from resident faculty member $1,000 In addition to meeting minimum academic criteria, applicants must submit a recommendation letter from a resident faculty member at MCC outlining your outstanding work and explaining why you are a deserving candidate. This letter must be uploaded to the MCC Online Application and becomes part of your application packet. Selection of scholarship recipients will be determined by a committee of resident faculty members. Up to 25 scholarships available annually. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA at MCC each semester to continue receipt of scholarship for award length listed above.

Mohave Community College Private s Generous donations to the Mohave Community College Foundation make private scholarships possible to students who meet specific criteria set by the donor or donor organization. Funds are limited and will be awarded based on fund availability to students who are deemed to best meet the donor s selection criteria.
