The North West Leadership Partnership The North West Leadership Partnership was established by Tauhedul Education. The Partnership believes every school has the capacity to thrive once it taps into the assets and innate potential in its people and local area. Our mission is to develop exceptional leaders through the provision of high quality, flexible professional training that is responsive to local educational needs. The Partnership includes National and Local Leaders of Education from some of the best performing schools in the region, five Teaching Schools, over 500 support schools, related LA School Improvement Partnerships, TES Prime, KPMG and a HEI. Working in partnership with the National College, we have developed a system of leadership development in which our best leaders in our best schools and academies are in the driving seat of leadership development across the North West.
Head of Leadership Curriculum Design and Facilitation role The Head of Leadership Curriculum Design and Facilitation will have special, in-depth knowledge of the National College modular leadership development programme curriculum. They will have a strong understanding of current national and local education issues around all phases but in the Primary phase in particular. They will ensure that facilitation across the National College modular leadership development programme leads to significant learning. To maximise this, they will meet equivalent standards to those advocated in the National College Facilitator Competency Framework. As a leading expert, they will also play a key role in the business development of Tauheedul Education and the Partnership; taking responsibility for the strategic growth and development of the Partnership s leadership programmes.
Main accountabilities Curriculum Design The purpose of this role is to provide across the Partnership: awareness of the National College modular curriculum framework for levels 1-3 and the ways in which programme participants can benefit from learning connected from one module to another within and across levels knowledge and understanding of the modules at each level a deep understanding of the content of each module including the learning and assessment activities within the modules awareness of the assessment and accreditation approach taken through the National College modular curriculum links with HEIs to ensure the Leadership Development Programmes are accredited the research and evaluation bases which underpin the National College modular curriculum and its component modules. Facilitation They will ensure high quality provision by leading the selection and preparation, quality assurance and ongoing development of facilitators. They will also have a key role in developing learning events and have a key responsibility to work closely with the Partnership s Lead On-line Facilitator at all levels. Face-to-face facilitation Work with the Partnership to facilitate the ongoing development of facilitators and deliver refresher/ updating training on the content/ model of the provision when required Design facilitator development sessions in accordance with the principles of experiential learning and coconstruction of knowledge Regularly facilitate on the provision and meet the expectations required of facilitators for the provision Be an advocate for the provision, the Partnership, Tauheedul Education and the National College.
Main accountabilities (continued) Online facilitation Model effective facilitation across online aspects of the National College modular curriculum and promote blended learning: Encouraging and supporting online engagement of participants Being a positive advocate for the potential of collaborative learning Monitoring the learning experience of participants in order to support and intervene and enhance engagement with the provision and promote personalised learning. Quality assurance (QA) and improving the effectiveness of provision Lead and define quality assurance activity within the Partnership provision Lead preparation, assessment and selection processes for the Partnership and Tauheedul Education Deliver facilitator training to ensure effective transmission of required subject matter expertise Engage in peer learning and ongoing development activities organised by the Partnership and Tauheedul Education Undertake QA of facilitators on behalf of the Partnership to ensure highly effective facilitation Lead the development of individual facilitators through coaching, partnering and other processes Systematically utilise feedback from participants to review practice and enhance future practice Be prepared to contribute to evaluation of the provision as requested by the National College. Prepare, write and present and reporting information about the provision and the quality of facilitation, identifying recommendations for improvement.
Main accountabilities (continued) Business Development The Head of Leadership Curriculum Design and Facilitation will also be responsible for the business development of the Partnership and, where appropriate, Tauheedul Education. They will take responsibility for the strategic growth and development of the Partnership s leadership programme. They will: work with the Head of Leadership Curriculum Design and Facilitation (Secondary phase) and the On-line Lead Facilitator at all levels to co-develop new adult learning opportunities (e.g. short courses, WebExs, Online seminars, hot-seats, workshops and conferences) and ensure continuity of design and delivery of the National College modular Curriculum identify new leadership development business opportunities for Tauheedul Education Ltd liaise with and be accountable to the Partnership Executive and the Partnership Forum where appropriate be accountable to the Chief Executive (Tauheedul Education Ltd). Administration The Head of Leadership Curriculum Design and Facilitation will liaise with the Business Manager (Tauheedul Education Ltd) to develop and maintain systems, procedures and protocols to support the administration, recruitment and all works of the Partnership
Head of Leadership Curriculum Design and Facilitation (Primary phase) Person Specification Qualifications, knowledge and understanding Have a minimum of degree level education Have a strong understanding of current national and local education issues around both phases but in the Primary phase in particular Demonstrate commitment to developing own knowledge and understanding of leadership and learning Demonstrate strong knowledge and understanding in the areas of the National College Competency Framework (i.e. learning, leadership, impact, facilitation) Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the principles of experiential adult learning, co-construction of knowledge, mentoring and coaching Experience Have substantial and successful experience of working within the relevant leadership context within the Primary phase Experience of quality assurance of leadership and learning provision Substantial experience and skill of designing leadership development provision and/or creation of leadership learning processes Experience of facilitating adult learning Experience of delivering leadership programmes Experience of partnership working.
