QuickBooks has added new icons to the for easier navigation to your Customer, Vendor, Employee and Report. For quick access to the areas of QuickBooks you use frequently, consider customizing your icon bar by adding the tasks and reports that you open on a daily or weekly basis. (Icons which you do not frequently use can also be easily removed.) Any window in QuickBooks can be added to the for easier access. Simply open the window that you want to add, then go to the View > Add Window to Icon Bar (where Window is the title of the window you are adding). If you require more room for your custom icons, you can remove the Navigation Bar. You can still access the Customer, Vendor and Employee from the homepage or via the QuickBooks menu. In older versions of QuickBooks, the customer, vendor and employee lists were located under the List menu. With QuickBooks 2008, you can access your lists in the Customer, Vendor or Employee centers simply go to the Customers, Vendors and Employees menus, icons on the homepage, or icon bar. The Customer, Vendor and Employee centers are a one-stop shop for viewing all of your transactions and other important information, such as the names and addresses of your customers, vendors, and employees. Customize the information that is displayed in each of the centers by adding new columns, such as email address, phone number and job description. There are many available columns to choose from! The new QuickBooks homepage provides easy access to data and everyday tasks. The homepage is displayed when you open a QuickBooks file. But if you would rather have QuickBooks open different window(s), you can customize this in QuickBooks Preferences (Step 1). Note that the homepage will automatically open as well.
