Tom Stafford, from UW System, will share information about changes to shared governance that were recently made to state statutes. Following his presentation, senators will break out into small groups, each of which will be facilitated by a member of the Senate Executive committee. Small groups are asked to discuss several questions and develop a short list of talking points that will be reported to the entire Senate. Following these reports, an open discussion will occur among senators and any interested members of the UWEC campus community. Please come to the meeting prepared to consider the following questions: 1. What does shared governance mean to you? 2. Why do you consider shared governance important? 3. What do you perceive as strengths and/or benefits of the model of shared governance currently used at UWEC? 4. What do you perceive as weaknesses and/or obstacles to the model of shared governance currently used at UWEC? 5. How should UWEC proceed with shared governance in light of the changes that were made to state statutes over the summer? 8) Adjournment www.uwec.edu/usenate/
