The scholarships are awarded annually the following: Program Undergraduate and graduate academic mobility programs Maximum duration of scholarship One academic term (quarter, trimester or semester) Graduate research and postdoctoral fellowships 12 months (1 month minimum) Specialization Master's degree Doctorate 1year 2 years 3 years Medical specialties and subspecialities 3 years UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE SCHOLARSHIP BE EXTENDED Scholarships are not granted direct Ph.D. programs (combined M.A. and Ph.D. programs), distance learning programs, open or online education. The list of institutions and academic programs participating in the scholarship program is available here: http:/iamexcid.mx/index.php/es/oferta-de-becas-para-extranjeros/1416 The following academic programs are not eligible scholarships: business administration, plastic surgery, accounting, marketing, dentistry and advertising. If the academic program requires a thesis and an end-of-course exam, the student is expected to finish the thesis and take the exam bee the specified end date the scholarship. Application Deadline Applications the scholarships will be accepted from June 26 to October 31, 2013. APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE PROCESSED

2014 Requirements all candidates: Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree, as required by the program which the scholarship is requested. Minimum grade point average of eight (8.0) on a scale of 0 to 10, or the equivalent, the last academic degree received. Be accepted to or currently enrolled in a program at one of the participating Mexican institutions. Required Documents Copy of the degrees obtained by the student, certificate showing a minimum grade point average of 8/10 the last academic degree obtained. If a different scale is used, the equivalent on a 10-point scale must be submitted. Curriculum vitae (at most 2 pages). Birth certificate copy. Passport copy. Medical certificate (original, no copies) with a date of a maximum of three (3) months bee being submitted, granted by a public medical institution. It must specify if the candidate suffers, or not, infecto-con tagious diseases. Text in which the reasons that motivate the applicant to study or to render his/her investigation in Mexico are exposed. In case of obtaining the scholarship, an explanation on how will he/she apply that knowledge in his/her country when he/she returns. Eight (8) original photographs, taken recently (not in digital mat) size 3cm x 3cm. One must be glued to the application m, and the rest must be sent with the candidate's name and nationality on the back. Acceptance letter from the Mexican host institution. 1 Official nomination Application m For mobility scholarships, a letter from the applicant's institution agreeing to give academic credit the classes or course of study that will be taken in Mexico. For investigations, copy of the letter that avows his/her inscription in the doctorate program. Candidates already in Mexico must have a current immigration document with a temporary student resident visa (card). 1 Applicants can submit a contact letter from the institution with the scholarship application and continue with the procedures and requirements of the host institution.

2014 If Spanish is not the applicant's native language, certificate an advanced level of proficiency in Spanish. issued by a university or language center its accreditation. It is suggested to present the exam in the Centro de Ensefianza para Extranjeros (CEPE) of the Universidad Nacional Aut6noma de Mexico (UNAM), Tel. +52 (762) 622-3410, Fax +52 (762) 622-0124, www.cepe.unam.mx Incomplete files and original documents will not be accepted (except the medical certificate, which must be submitted in the original). The entire application process scholarships must be done at the Mexican embassy or concurrent embassy the applicant's country. NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED DIRECTLY FROM THE APPLICANTS Applicants with more than one nationality may only submit one application under one nationality. The nomination must come from the same country as the nationality chosen. If awarded a scholarship, the recipient must travel to Mexico with the passport used throughout the application process, which must be issued by the nominating country. THE FILES OF UNSUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE RETURNED Selection Process Preference will be given to candidates that: Select a program on an issue important to the development of their country. Apply graduate programs not available in their country. Study or do research at institutions located outside of the Mexico City metropolitan area. Hold faculty or research positions at public universities and scientific research centers in their country. Are public officials in charge of areas or programs of special interest their country. Have not previously received a scholarship from the Mexican government. Applications that meet all of the requirements are subject to review by authorities from the applicants' respective countries as part of the selection process. The Mexican government will only review files received from its embassies.

2014 Selection Criteria: Academic excellence of the candidate in the intended area of study The intended field of study in Mexico is related to the applicant's academic and job history. The area of study is important to and has a direct impact on the development of the applicant's country. The program must relate to specific current or approved projects that have an impact on the development of the applicant's country. The final decision on the scholarships is made solely by the Mexican government. NONE OF THE DECISIONS RELATED TO THE SELECTION PROCESS ARE SUBJECT TO APPEAL Scholarship Benefits Enrollment fees and tuition, as established by the program at each institution. Health insurance from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), starting in the third month of the scholarship. (The scholarship recipient must have health insurance that covers both major and minor medical expenses the first three months in Mexico). Transportation from Mexico City to the host institution and back at the start and end of the scholarship, if studying outside of Mexico City. Monthly stipend of $7,771.20 Mexican pesos (equivalent to $ 598.71 USD2) undergraduate mobility scholarships, specializations, research at the Master's degree level, Spanish language and Mexican culture courses. Monthly stipend of $9,714.00 Mexican pesos (equivalent to $ 748.38 USD2) doctoral studies and research, postdoctoral fellowships and medical specializations and subspecializations. 2 Exchange rate on May 30, 2013

2014 Expenses Not Covered by the Scholarship Any fees transferring academic credits and course revalidation Cost of printing a thesis Fees related to obtaining a diploma or certificates Registration in the National Registry of Foreign Citizens Any other expense not mentioned above Transitory Provisions Applicants are responsible applying admission to the academic program of interest. The admissions process of the Mexican institution and obtaining the acceptance letter is independent of the scholarship program and the applicant's responsibility. The applicant must submit a nominating letter from his/her government the application to be processed. Submission of an acceptance letter, a nominating letter and/or all of the required documents does not automatically result in a scholarship. All applicants go through the selection process described in this announcement. The results of the scholarship contest will be delivered in writing to the applicant by the corresponding Mexican diplomatic office. The scholarships are non-transferable and may not be deferred use in subsequent academic years. The following are not eligible: i) Foreign diplomats accredited in Mexico or their relatives ii) Foreign residents in Mexico iii) Foreign citizens with Mexican nationality Scholarships will not be given to two or more people from the same family. ONCE THE SCHOLARSHIP HAS BEEN AWARDED, AND BEFORE TRAVELING TO MEXICO, THE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT MUST GO TO THE CONSULAR SECTION OF THE MEXICAN EMBASSY OR TO THE APPROPRIATE MEXICAN CONSULATE FOR THE CORRECT VISA.
