The International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA), IFAMA Europe, Wageningen University and the Danish Food Cluster cordially invite submissions for participation in the combined 26th Annual IFAMA World Conference and the 12th Wageningen International Conference on Chain and Network Management (WICANEM) in the picturesque city of Aarhus, Denmark, June 19th to 23rd 2016. IFAMA, in its 26th Annual Conference and WICaNeM, in its 12th Bi-Annual Conference have a history of bringing together relevant innovations and research from industry and academia, which is the hallmark of this conference. In 2016 these organizations joined forces with the Danish Food Cluster, the Aarhus School of Business, the Universities of Bonn and Naples to create strong European collaboration and together with more than 20 international Universities, have a really global event in Aarhus, Denmark. IFAMA World Conference Student Case Competition Academic Symposium World Forum The IFAMA World Conference convenes over 300 faculty, industry leaders and top students from around the world to share, learn, explore and build on the research, trends and innovations that drive the agribusiness sector. The conference features a Student Case Competition, Symposium, and a World Forum where delegates come together around the three major issues of Become the Solution: Food Security 2050 in roundtable discussions led by IFAMA members and industry partners. IFAMA aims to enhance its members capacity to excel at the science and art of food and agricultural business management. Effective science-based decision-making is developed through discussions, debate, and careful deliberations among peers. Through these, members discover the multidimensionality of their common issues, draw connections to broader themes and develop solutions which enhance collective competitiveness. Wageningen International Conference on Chain and Network Management (WICANEM) Student Case Competition Academic Symposium World Forum Over the last decades, WICaNeM has become a well-known conference regarding the management, economics, and organization of chains and networks in a Life Sciences context. Over the years, representatives of business, government, and research have discussed the latest issues of innovation and sustainability in chains and networks in order to build the sustainability agenda for the years to come. WICaNeM provides the opportunity for attendees to meet international companies and innovative SMEs, providing vast opportunities to companies wanting to develop their business on an international platform, as well as researchers who want to prepare EU-programs. 2016 will mark the 12th time that the biannual WICaNeM conference will be held. We have joined forces with IFAMA and IFAMA Europe, the Danish Food Cluster and the Universities of Aarhus, Bonn and Naples to create a truly European Platform.
Conference Tracks The 2016 Conference Symposium seeks proposals addressing the following topics: The Role of Technology in Food Security Entrepreneurship in Agricultural Innovation Food Loss & Waste Climate Smart Agriculutre Food Security & Sustainability Innovation & Sustainability in Developing & Emerging Economies The Role of Big Data in Agriculture Multi-Stakeholder Organizations & Wicked Problems Economics & Management of Agribusiness: Global Challenges Agribusiness Education & People-Talent Development in the 21st Century Responsible Innovation & Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Chains & Networks The Role of Social Networks in Sustainable Business Innovative & Sustainable Food Logistics Governance & Contract Issues in Chains & Networks
Call for Contributions The business and academic community is invited to submit original proposals for Scientific Research Papers; Scientific Research Posters; Teaching and Research Cases or Discussion Sessions through the website www.ifama.org/2016submit which also contains more information about the 2016 IFAMA/ WICaNeM Conference and the submission procedure. Each proposal should be designated for inclusion in one the specified tracks listed above. Scientific Research Papers and Posters Authors must submit a 3 to 5 page abstract in English. Each abstract must contain the following: Cover Page Problem Statement Objectives Procedures/methodologies/approaches Results Conclusions References Authors preferences for presentation as a paper or poster Submissions will undergo a double blind peer review. Conditional to acceptance, authors will be invited to submit a full paper. The best scientific papers, associated with paper presentations, will be invited to participate to the Best Paper Award competition and may be selected for publication in either the International Food and Agribusiness Management Review (IFAMR) or the International Journal on Chain and Network Science (JCNS). All accepted papers will be available on USB-stick, for the registered participants attending the 2016 Conference. Posters are also eligible for competitive awards. Teaching Cases Proposals for teaching cases are encouraged. The Symposium will showcase up to four cases that utilize the Harvard-Style teaching case method. Discussion Sessions In addition, one can submit proposals for a showcase panel or (agenda setting) roundtable discussions and teaching cases. Each proposal preferably, but not necessarily, should cover themes that suit one of the specified tracks. Submit to www.ifama.org/2016submit
Timeline Important Date: Deadline to submit abstracts of academic or business papers and posters, suggestions for round table discussions and teaching cases: November 15, 2015. September 15, 2015 Abstract submission opens. All abstracts will undergo a doubleblind review process. November 15, 2015 Last day to submit abstracts of posters, papers, and case studies. December 15, 2015 Authors notified of acceptance into paper or poster sessions, or teaching cases. January 17, 2016 Last day to submit full case or complete manuscript for Best Paper Competition consideration or to be featured in the Harvard style case study showcase February 21, 2016 Feedback on completed manuscripts or teaching cases. May 1, 2016 Final paper submission deadline. May 16, 2016 Presenting authors must register. June 1, 2016 Final program schedule available online.
