2 /3 yard main fabric 1 /4 yard contrasting fabric for ties 1 /4 yard contrasting fabric for pocket Design KC0416 contrasting piece and stitch in place. 8. Finish the remaining three sides of the pocket by turning 1 /2" to the wrong side of the pocket and pressing. Apron 1. Cut an 8" x 8" piece of contrasting fabric for the pocket. Mark right side of fabric 1 /4" below center. 2. Hoop the fabric with two 8" x 8" pieces of backing. 3. Embroider the design. Remove from hoop. Do not trim cut-away backing, this will add stability to the finished pocket. 4. Trim the selvage edges from the 2 /3 yard piece of fabric. This is the main piece for the apron. 5. Hem sides of apron by turning under 1 /4" twice and topstitching. 6. Hem bottom of apron by turning up 1 /2" to the wrong side and pressing. Then turn up another 3" to the wrong side and topstitch. 7. For pocket top cut a piece of fabric 5" x 8". Stitch right side to wrong side of pocket top. Press to right side of pocket and fold to make a 2" contrasting top piece. Fold under 1 /4" hem on 9. We placed our pocket on the right side 6" up from hem and 5" in from the side (distance will vary with size of your pocket and apron). Topstitch in place. 10. For ties cut two pieces of contrasting fabric 22" long and 5" wide. Fold in half lengthwise with right sides together. Stitch a 1 /2" seam along the long edge, angling to a point about 3" from the end. Trim corners, turn and press. Repeat for remaining tie. 11. For contrasting band at the top of the apron cut a piece of fabric 22" x 5". Gather the top of the apron by stitching two lines of basting stitches 1 /4" and 1 /2" from the top edge. Gather the top of the apron until it is 21" wide. 12. Sew the band and apron together by stitching the right side of the band to the wrong side of the gathered edge of the apron using a 1 /2" seam. Press 1 /2" hem along unfinished edge of the band. Press and fold the band to the apron front. Topstitch band into place. 13. Turn remaining 1 /2" overlap at ends of band to the inside and press. Tuck ties into ends of the band and topstitch. 1

Fabric Coaster Option Two 5" x 5" pieces of fabric for each coaster 1. Mark center of fabric Coaster Acrylic coaster with craft or photo insert. 4 1 /2" x 4 1 /2" fabric for each coaster or size to fit your coaster Design KC0427 1. Mark center of fabric. 2. Hoop one piece of fabric with two pieces of backing. 3. Embroider design. Remove from hoop. 4. Trim backing 1 /2" from the edges of the fabric. 5. Place the embroidered piece back to back with other piece of fabric wrong sides together. 6. Stitch 1 /2" from the edge. 7. Fray the fabric edges. 2. Hoop fabric with two pieces of backing. 3. Embroider design. Remove from hoop. Do not cut backing. 4. Trim, leaving about 1 /2" to fold to back of cardboard. 5. Follow instructions that are included with the coaster. Note: We purchased the coasters at a local craft store in the cross-stitch area. 2

3. Embroider design. Remove from hoop. 4. Repeat steps 1-3 for second piece of fabric. 5. Lay the embroidered pieces of fabric wrong sides together. Cut into a 4" circle. 6. Hand stitch outside edge with embroidery floss. We used a buttonhole stitch. Drip Catcher 7. Use fabric anti-fray glue in the center of the fabric on both sides. After the anti-fray glue dries, fold the drip catcher in half. Make a 1 /2" snip with a scissors. Fold the drip catcher in half the other way, make another 1 /2" snip. You will have to adjust the "snip" to the size of the spout on the tea pot. Two 4" x 4" pieces of fabric Spray adhesive Fabric anti-fray glue Coordinating embroidery floss Design KC0428 1. Mark center of fabric. 2. Hoop two pieces of cut-away backing. Spray backing with adhesive. Adhere one piece of fabric to backing. 3

Trim backing close to design. 5. Run ribbon through the cup handle. 6. Tie to cup. 7. Fill cup with fun items. Luncheon Mats & Napkins Napkin - 11" x 11" fabric for each napkin Mat - two pieces 11" x 14" fabric for each mat Spray adhesive Designs KC0425, KC0409, KC0418, KC0401 1. Mat and napkins could be serged for a more decorative finish. 5

measure 9" wide x 11 1 /2" long. Fold in half length wise and press. 3. Unfold pocket piece and mark the center of design on the lower portion of the pocket. 4. Hoop two pieces of cut-away backing and fabric. 5. Embroider design. Remove from hoop. Trim backing from design Tea Cozy 1 /2 yard main fabric 1 /4 yard coordinating fabric for pocket 1 /4 yard accent fabric for binding or 21" of premade bias tape Spray adhesive Design KC0414 Fabric amounts are for the tea pot we used. Your fabric amounts will depend on the size of your tea pot. 1. Measure the height of your tea pot plus 4". Measure the width from handle to spout plus 2 1 /2 inches. Our measurements were 11 1 /2" wide by 11" high. Fold your main fabric and cut two pieces on the fold. (Our cut pieces measured 11 1 /2" x 22" each.) 2. Cut a pocket from the coordinating fabric to 6. On one of the pieces, place the folded embroidered piece of fabric so the fold is on top (this will line the pocket). The pocket is centered on the bottom of one piece of the main fabric. On either side of the embroidery, a stitch line is sewn from the fold to the bottom edge of the pocket. Above the embroidery, sew bar tacks evenly spaced on pocket to hold the spoons. 7. With right sides together, fold the piece with the pocket in half. Mark the center at the fold and turn the right and left corners down to form a curve and press. Do the same with the second piece that measures 11 1 /2" by 22" (this piece will act as the lining). 8. Make a loop from the accent fabric and tuck it at the center top fold of the piece that has the pocket on the bottom. Stitch around the piece with 1 /2" seams on the sides and on the press line of the curves. We used a 1 /4" seam across the center top where the loop is placed. Trim corners and turn right side out. Repeat with the lining fabric (don t add a loop to the lining piece). When both pieces are wrong side out, stitch top centers together on the seam. Turn the piece with the pocket right side out and match up bottom edges. 9. Make binding from same accent fabric as the loop and bind off the bottom of the cozy. 6

to 5" x 5". 2. Cut strips of coordinating fabric 2 3 /4" wide by 33" long. Sew a strip across the top and bottom of the embroidered piece using 1 /4" seams. Press seams away from center piece and trim ends to square them up. Sew a strip on each side, press away from center piece and square up the ends. The square now measures 10" x 10". 3. Cut backing fabric and batting to the size of your top piece. Layer all three pieces (backing wrong side up, batting and then embroidered piece right side up on top.) Quilt the layers together by stitching in the ditch. Square the piece to the size you want finished. Bind off the outside with either self made or purchased binding. We made our own binding by cutting strips 2" wide. Tea Pot Quilted Wall Hanging 4. Sew two round plastic rings on the top right and left corners for hanging. 1 /4 yard of center fabric 1 /4 yard coordinating fabric 1 /4 yard of contrasting fabric for binding or 42" pre-made bias tape Spray adhesive Two round plastic rings Designs KC0411, KC0406 and KC0410 Construction: 1. Cut center fabric piece and two pieces of cut-away backing to 8" x 8". Hoop together and embroider design in the center. Remove from hoop and trim 7

1. Mark center on pocket piece. 2. Hoop fabric with two pieces of cut-away. 3. Embroider design. Remove from hoop. Leave backing for stability. 4. Cut three pieces 8 1 /2" x 13 1 /2" and one triangle piece 8 1 /4" x 8 1 /4" x 8 1 /4" from fabric for bag. Cut same amounts for the lining. Cut bias strips 2" wide x 48" long for the tie, 2" wide x 9" long for the pocket top, cut three pieces 2" wide by 5" long for loops, and 2" wide x 24" long for binding around the top of the bag. 5. Bind off the top of the pocket. Triangle Gift Bag 1 /2 yard fabric for the bag 1 /2 yard for lining and binding or 96" pre-made bias tape 8 1 /2" x 6 1 /2" piece for pocket Small buckle Design KC0405 6. Pin pocket to one 8 1 /2" x 13 1 /2" piece matching bottoms. With right sides together sew the three 8 1 /2" x 13 1 /2" pieces together using 1 /4" seams forming a triangle. Sew the triangle shaped piece to the bottom with right sides together. Construct the lining fabric using the same technique but omitting the pocket. Tack the lining to the bag at the bottom seams. 7. To make the tie sew the 2" x 48" piece of bias with right sides together lengthwise using a 1 /4" seam. Turn, press and finish the ends. 8. Make the loops in the same way as the tie. 9. Bind off the top of the bag and attach a loop at each seam. Bar tack the loops down at the folded edge and again about 1" up. 10. We used a small belt buckle to fasten the tie but it could just be tied in a bow. 8
