ESL at Snow College Quality ESL Education Sayako Kimura Snow College was a great place to study English and the GE requirements for my nursing degree. I could not speak English when I started studying at Snow College. The English as a Second Language classes were hard, but all of my reading, writing and speaking skills were developed in those classes. After studying at Snow College I transferred to the University of Utah and entered the nursing program there. I am now a Registered Nurse. I m glad I began my education at Snow College. Snow College does not require TOEFL or IELTS for admission! We offer conditional admission that allows students to study ESL before they begin their academic studies. Students can come and earn their ESL certificate in less than 18 months! Our ESL program is one of the only 2-year colleges with endorsement from the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP). Snow is the oldest ESL program in the United States. Snow College has been teaching English to international students for over 34 years. Snow College offers four levels of ESL. Each level can be completed in 8 weeks, which means it is possible to finish your ESL in 2-semesters or less. Snow College keeps classes small so you can get the personal attention you need. The average class size is 15 students. ESL students are considered Snow College students, with access to our Activity Center, discounts at local restaurants, travel with the Global Explorations Programs, and much more. Snow College offers English as a Second Language (ESL) program Students attend classes five days a week for four or five hours a day. At Snow you will improve your skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammer. Our ESL department also offers subjects in college and American studies such as note taking, using computers, U.S. culture, classroom culture, and using the library. The academic standards are very high and ESL program is very strong at Snow College and I felt very well prepared when I transferred to Utah Valley University. Diana Kunakaeva At Snow College I completed all of my General Education requirements and then I transferred to a four year university to pursue my Bachelor of Arts degree. When I transferred to a university I didn t have to worry about completing my General Education requirements in a classroom with 500+ other students. This gave me more time to concentrate on my major. Hamad Balhareth At Snow College the classes were small and taught by experienced professors who were well organized and helpful outside the classroom. Even the transfer process from Snow College to the University of Utah was easy. They didn t ask me for a TOFEL score because I already took english classes at Snow!!!
