What is Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics? 1 Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics is part of the Infor Lawson Analytics for Healthcare Suite and addresses the need for greater visibility into detailed project and expense tracking activities, identification of possible savings opportunities, performance monitoring, and role-based insight. Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics will help organizations quickly access key financial metrics and performance indicators. "Who should use this product?" on page 6 "Components" on page 6 "What is an OLAP database?" on page 7 Who should use this product? This product can be used by the executive management, division and department managers, project accountants and managers, and other key stakeholders of the organization's project tracking and performance. Components This topic describes the basic components of Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics. BMM The Business Measurement Model (BMM) extracts and transforms the source data into an analytical data model that contains fact tables and dimension tables. OLAP cubes The online analytical processing (OLAP) cubes summarize data along defined dimensions and hierarchies. 6 Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics User Guide
What is Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics? What is an OLAP database? Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics retrieves data stored in Infor Lawson relational databases as well as non-lawson sources and transforms it into a multidimensional database, or datamart, and stores it in an OLAP database. OLAP is an efficient way to aggregate data. OLAP works with facts, and facts are numbers. OLAP cubes are efficient at counting, summing, and averaging. Facts can be grouped and organized into dimensions. OLAP databases store data differently than relational databases. Relational databases store data in two dimensions (rows and columns); OLAP databases store data in multiple dimensions. An OLAP database is: Fast Flexible Interactive Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics User Guide 7
Infor Lawson applications setup 2 This chapter provides information about setting up Infor Lawson applications. "Attributes (Optional)" on page 8 "13th period (Optional)" on page 8 Attributes (Optional) Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics provides the ability to define alternate views using the Infor Lawson Attribute Matrix system. Up to 20 Project Activity Group Attributes, Project Activity Attributes, and Account Category Attributes can be defined in Business Performance Warehouse (BPW) that relate to the Attributes defined in Infor Lawson for those object types. To define an attribute, you need to give it a name and associate it with an element and object type. Optionally, you can assign valid values to the attribute, limit an attribute's use to the project activity group, project activity, or account category, and indicate whether an attribute is required. See "Defining Attributes" in the Infor Lawson Project and Activity Accounting User Guide. After defining attributes for the Project Activity Group (ACGRP), Activity (ACTVY), or Account Category (ACCAT) object types, you can assign attribute values to a project activity group, project activity, and account category. See "Configuring BPW variables" in the Infor Lawson Analytics for Healthcare Installation Guide and "Defining variables in BPW" in the Infor Lawson Analytics for Healthcare Administration Guide. 13th period (Optional) If your project group calendar is set up for 13 periods, this is reflected as the last date of the final fiscal month. The 13th period amount is automatically included in the fiscal hierarchy dimension and can be excluded by de-selecting the date. For example, for a calendar year, FY2011 12-December will show the actual amount for two dates: December 30th reflects the 12th period amount and December 31st reflects the 13th period amount. If the 13th period is not setup for a project group, the fiscal hierarchy dimension will show the actual amount in the day prior to the final date (December 30th in the example above). 8 Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics User Guide
Data source 3 The system needs to know basic information for what budgets to extract and budgeted information by activity for companies and accounting units. This information is defined in the BPW External Data\MS Access\Project Accounting tables. Up to three additional budgets per Project Activity can be defined for extraction and analysis. The budget designated as active by activity in Infor Lawson will be included automatically. One additional budget can be defined in the BPW External Data\MS Access\Project Accounting table at a company and accounting unit level. "Budget inputs" on page 9 "GL organization inputs for Budget Amount Data" on page 10 "GL organization inputs for Report Currency Amount Data" on page 10 "System inputs for Report Currency Amount Data" on page 10 Budget inputs AC_Budget_Reference (Access) Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics provides for three additional budgets per Project Activity for analysis purposes. Use this Access database to specify the Project Activity and up to three budget numbers to be used in the Project Activity cube. Note: All Budgets used for storing measure values across the project structure should be defined under the same column heading in the AC_Budget_Reference table. For example, if Project Activity 1 stores measure values in Budget 10 and Project Activity 4 stores measure values in Budget 99, then both budgets should be defined under BudgetOneID, as shown in the example below. See the following example: Project Activity BudgetOneID BudgetTwoID BudgetThreeID 1 10 50 60 4 99 5 10 Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics User Guide 9
Data source AC_Budget_By_Organization (Access) Activity budget definition is available in an Access table providing budgeting at the company and accounting unit levels.this is beneficial when activities belong to multiple accounting units or companies. In the Access table, data in each of the fields is required. If there are no values needed for amounts or units, 0 is a valid input. The data in the Access table for company, accounting unit, activity, and account category must be verified against the setup in the Infor Lawson source tables. If the entered data is not a valid member, an unassigned (orphan) record will be created. See the following example: Company Accounting Unit Activity Account Category Fiscal Year Fiscal Month Budget Amount Budget Units 1 6030 0147 5000 2011 9 3500 0 1 6030 0147 5010 2011 9 1700 0 1 6010 0147 5030 2011 10 2000 0 1 6010 0147 5060 2011 10 1900 200 GL organization inputs for Budget Amount Data For budget data created from the ACBUDDTL table, Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics provides the ability to include company and accounting units, the GL organization dimension, as part of a budget to actual analysis. The company and accounting unit values for the budget amounts are populated with the default assignments from the ACACTIVITY table since the budget table does not include this information. The company and accounting unit values for actuals and commitments/encumbrances are directly from the source tables ACGLMAST and ACCOMMITX, respectively. The company and accounting unit values for external budgets come directly from the entered values in the Access table. GL organization inputs for Report Currency Amount Data Report Currencies are not available by organization. If Report Currencies are used in combination with the GL organization dimension, the amount displayed will not reflect the company and AU and instead will be the same amount repeated based on the lowest level the report currency contains. System inputs for Report Currency Amount Data Report Currencies are not available by system code dimension. If Report Currencies are used in combination with the system code dimension, the amount displayed will be the same amount repeated. 10 Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics User Guide
Project Activity cube 4 This chapter contains information on the data source, dimensions, and measures included in the Project Activity cube. "Data source" on page 11 "Project Activity dimensions" on page 13 "Project Activity measures" on page 18 "Dimension relationships to measure groups" on page 29 Data source The Project Activity cube is based primarily on the data in Infor Lawson Project and Activity Accounting. Non-Lawson data may also be the source for many of the key performance indicators. The following figure shows the data sources used in the Project Activity cube. Project Accounting Analytics drill through 6 This chapter provides an overview of the drill through functionality of Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics and the steps of running a drill through. "Overview" on page 42 "Running a drill through in Microsoft Excel" on page 43 "Dimension fields enabled with drill through" on page 43 Overview The drill through is used to obtain additional detail information from the commitment detail table ACCOMMITX. Some of the additional fields are as follows: System Invoice Item Resource Type Resource Code Resource The drill through has been designed to work with just the measures related to the commitment amounts. The measures enabled to allow drill through are the Encumbrance Amount and RQ Commitment Amount. Along with the measures, several dimension table fields have been enabled with the drill through. This provides the option to narrow the data set for more specific analysis. See "Dimension fields enabled with drill through" on page 43 for a list of all the fields available. 42 Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics User Guide

Glossary B This section describes key terms used in this document. "List of terms" on page 46 List of terms Term Attribute BPW Dimension Display Folder Drill Down Drill Up ETL Fact Definition A dimension member Business Performance Warehouse is the data measurement model that consolidates and integrates data for Infor Lawson Analytics for Healthcare. BPW performs the ETL for creating the cubes. A dimension is a collection of attributes that are related to a key attribute, which in turn relates to facts in the measures dimension. For example, the EMPLOYEE dimension is made up of attributes such as, Address, and Hire Date of each employee. Each Employee has a key which is used to link to facts regarding the Employee such as Paid Hours. Dimension attributes organized into folders under a dimension The ability to navigate from a summarized level of data to a more detailed level The ability to navigate from a detailed level of data to a more summarized level Extract Transform Load. A function of Business Performance Warehouse to build the data warehouse and load the cubes. Typically a number that measures, or is used in a calculation that provides a business measure 46 Infor Lawson Healthcare Project Accounting Analytics User Guide
Glossary Term Granularity Hierarchy Measure Measure Group Pivot Definition The level of detail in a fact table. The more detail, the higher the level of granularity. Different facts in the same cube may have different levels of granularity making it, so one fact may not compare to another fact at the same level. In the case of budgets versus actual hours, budgets may stop at the Job Code level where actual hours may break out to the Position level. Dimension members organized in a parent-child relationship A measure is a value from a fact table, and is also called a fact. Measures are generally numeric values. A measure group is a collection of related measures in a cube. The ability to "reorient" or pivot the cube to change the display of dimension members from rows to columns or vice versa. This reorientation requires resummarizing large amounts of data which is much more efficient in a cube rather than from a relational reporting database.
