CORPORATE & M&A Ash St. advises local and international clients buying or selling companies and businesses providing strategic advice, transactional support, legal due diligence and completion logistics. Across a range of industry sectors, from agribusiness to telecommunications, IT, transport and biotechnology, we achieve outstanding results for clients, which include local and international public and private companies and not-for-profit organisations. Experienced in large outsourcing, system integration and software development projects and disputes all over the world, our clients include major Australian banks and retailers on some of the country s largest information technology outsourcing transactions. We offer IT transactions and intellectual property advice for clients from technology suppliers through to banks, retailers, start-ups, media companies and telcos.
PROJECTS & FINANCE Ash St. works with clients in a broad range of corporate, project and finance areas, both debt and equity. Areas of expertise cover infrastructure and power, energy and resources projects, including for foreign investors, mergers and acquisitions, project and corporate financing and restructuring. Our goal is to enable clients to achieve their project and financing investment goals in the most streamlined way and we have extensive experience in advising corporates, financial institutions, government entities, participants in infrastructure and power projects including public-private partnerships, foreign investors government entities and their advisers. PETER KEEL CEO, Director Disputes & Risk Peter successfully resolves and prevents disputes for private, public and not-for-profit enterprises. He is co-author of the leading text on reputation management, Reputation Matters: a legal guide to risk management in corporate communications, and is one of Australia s leading reputation management specialists. Formerly a partner at Clayton Utz, Peter has also served on that firm s board, Chaired the Bundanon Trust and currently chairs the Eye Foundation. Peter is a co-founder of Ash St. PETER SHAW Director Corporate & M&A Peter is a leader in providing corporate and commercial advice to local and international clients on public and private M&A, equity capital markets, private equity, strategic joint ventures and corporate governance. He also advises listed and unlisted companies on IPOs, rights issues, share purchase plans, convertible note issues, private placements and employee incentive schemes. A former partner of Clayton Utz and more recently Maddocks, Peter has over twenty years experience. He also advises substantial private companies, investors and family offices and multinational companies on their in-bound M&A, as well as a broad range of start-ups and early stage companies across a diverse spectrum from traditional assets and agribusiness to intangible assets, and high tech and retail brands. JASON DIXON Director IT & IP Jason specialises in complex outsourcing, software development and system integration transactions and disputes. He has worked in Europe, Africa, Australia, China and New Zealand and has worked on some of Australia s largest information technology outsourcing transactions, including those with major Australian banks and retailers. Formerly he was the General Counsel of IBM and for Unisys in Australia and New Zealand. In addition to his in-house career, Jason worked at leading law firms Baker & McKenzie in London and Minter Ellison and Allen Allen & Hemsley in Sydney. SHAUN McGUSHIN Director Projects & Finance Shaun leads the Ash St. Projects & Finance team. He is one of Australia s most experienced advisers on infrastructure and finance, including buying and selling infrastructure assets, public private partnerships, project finance, corporate finance, acquisition finance, capital markets and workouts. Formerly a partner of both Corrs and Freehills, Shaun has over thirty years experience advising local and international corporates on a wide range of transactions with particular focus on the infrastructure, power, energy and resources industries. He has a reputation for successfully completing major transactions, no matter how complex, and is sought for his strategic and negotiating skills.
