How to open the ArchiveWeb Interface directly from MS Outlook The purpose of this document is to describe how to optionally use ArchiveWeb in MS Outlook. The ArchiveWEB is designed to be used in a web browser. Users can optionally configure their MS Outlook to browse the ArchiveWEB webservice. When exchange@pam is archiving emails from Outlook profiles, as default it leaves a shortcut for each archived item in the user s profile in MS Exchange. In this way, when opening MS Outlook the user will still be able to see its old emails. The shortcut replacing the archived email consists of the body and the header of the original email. This has been designed for transparency, so that the user will still be able to read the email in its Outlook preview pane. Since exchange@pam version 2.2000 the archived emails lifecycle can be designed using the Retention Categorization feature. This feature allows the administrator to set various rules for the items archived and their shortcuts. For example, the shortcuts of the archived files could be deleted from MS Exchange after a defined period of time, or even at instance. When a shortcut of an email is removed from MS Exchange, exchange@pam detects it as an archived item with a lost shortcut. Furthermore, the user is still able to access such emails in two ways: 1. when the Fulltext Search engine provided by the exchange@pam Addin is used, the queries will run against the exchange@pam Database and not against MS Exchange. Thus the Fulltext Search will return a list of results with the following types of items: - emails that have a shortcut in Exchange - emails that do not have a shortcut anymore in Exchange - emails marked for deletion from HSM 2. the user will see all its archived items in the exchange@pam web interface. This archive web interface lists only the archived data from mailboxes. Advanced searching features are available alongside with the fulltext search. To access the exchange@pam web interface easily directly from their Outlook please follow the next steps: - create a new folder in the Outlook and name it for example ArchiveWeb - right-click it to open the Properties window of the new created folder and switch over to the Home Page tab - select the Show home page by default for this folder checkbox - on the Address field write the following URL: http://exchangepamservername/archiveweb - click OK and restart your Outlook H&S Heilig und Schubert Software AG Seite 1/7

Further you will find the ArchiveWEB virtual directory settings in IIS on the PAM server that should be taken into consideration. The Virtual Directory tab: You can change the Application pool used by the DefaultAppsPool if desired. Otherwise the EPAMApplicationPool is used as default. This application pool runs in IIS under the exchange@pam super-user. H&S Heilig und Schubert Software AG Seite 4/7

If in the exchange@pam IIS the IUSR_servername anonymous access is turned off for the ArchiveWEB website and the Integrated Windows Authentication is left on, then the users should open their web interface without authenticating first. However this functionality may depend on the other settings in IIS, protocol certificates or DNS and Outlook browsing capabilities limitations. If the Single Sign On (SSO) functionality does not work in IIS, please consider installing additional web single sign-on and access management security 3 rd party software on your server. More information about Intranet Access Management and Single Sign On is available on the following Microsoft official site: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/guidance/identitymanagement/idmanage/p3intran_1.mspx?mfr=true The Documents tab: H&S Heilig und Schubert Software AG Seite 6/7
If the Default.aspx default page content is not present, please use the Add button to put it in the list and move it to the top. The ASP.NET tab: The ArchiveWEB webservice must use ASP.NET version 1.1.4322. H&S makes every effort to perform comprehensive testing but cannot guarantee, due to environmental differences, that all functions will work in every environment. It is always recommended that testing be conducted within your own environment to confirm functionality and compatibility. H&S Heilig und Schubert Software AG Seite 7/7
