Mario Graff Curriculum Vitae Division of Postgraduate Studies Faculty of Electrical Engineering Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, México B mgraffg@dep.fie.umich.mx Professional Preparation 2006 2010 PhD in Computer Science, School of Computing Science and Electronic Engineering, University of Essex, Colchester, UK. Models of the Performance of Evolutionary Program Induction Algorithms Professor Riccardo Poli Models of performance of evolutionary program-induction algorithms such as: Genetic Programming, Cartesian Genetic Programming among others are proposed. The models are based on measuring the similarity between a set of references problems and the problem whose performance is being estimated. Besides performing accurate predictions of unseen problems, these models have been used to solve the algorithm selection problem and can help in the analysis and comparison of different algorithms and/or algorithms with different parameter settings. 2003 2005 M. S. in Electrical Engineering with option in Computer Science, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, Morelia, Michoacán, México. Master Thesis System Identification Using Genetic Programming (in Spanish) Professor Juan J. Flores Genetic programming was used to evolve systems of ordinary differential equations that model a particular system. GP receives the inputs and the response of the system. It returns the systems of equations exhibiting that particular behaviour. 1998 2003 B. S. Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, Morelia, Michoacán, México. Undergraduate Thesis Data Structures and Algorithms for Net Optimization (in Spanish) Professor Juan J. Flores A Java-framework that helps in the creation of animations of data structures operation was developed. This framework was used to animate a number of data structures used in traditional graph problems such as minimum spanning trees, and maximum flow problem, among others. Appointments 2011 current Assistant Professor, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Morelia, Michoacán, México. The principal activity is to research on the following fields: Evolutionary Algorithms, Algorithm Selection Problem, and Time Series Forecasting; and supervise M.Sc. and PhD students. I also give lectures in the Computer Science Bachelor and in the M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering. 2005 2010 Lead Software Developer and System Administrator, Subdirección de Ingresos, State Government of Michoacán de Ocampo, Morelia, Michocán, México. 1/5
