Aluminum Sliding Door Assembly Instructions Frame Assembly a) Layout Frame i) Layout frame so that sill and header are opposite with jambs joining the two. Frame Assembly ii) Insert Waterproofing gaskets on each end of jambs and peel off paper(4 required). iii) Screw jambs to header on both ends with Pan Head (10g x 29mm). 3 screws on each frame corner. iv) Screw jambs to sill on both ends with Pan Head (10g x 29mm). 3 screws on each frame corner. iii) Fix reveals to frame before placing frame in situ. 2) Fixing Frame a) Place Frame in stud opening i) The assembled frame is to be placed in stud opening with particular attention paid to ensuring the sill is level. ii) Plumb the jambs off the sill and ensure sufficient packing around door between stud and reveal. (1) Pay particular attention to packing at the following locations (a) lock height ( 1000 mm off floor level) (b) above the header, under the lintel (to prevent unwanted flex in header) b) Fixing to studs and Header i) When Plumb and Level fix frame to studs and header through the reveals. (1) If no reveal used fix directly through the aluminum frame by drilling clearance hole then using sufficient length screw in a 10g Button head.
Install Order Install Order Aluminum Sliding Door Assembly Instructions Sash Assembly 1) Sash assembly must only commence when frame has been installed plumb and level. A failure to ensure frame is plumb and level can compromise the performance of the door. 2) Sash Assembly a) Sashes are installed as per the following diagram with particular attention paid to the order in which the doors are installed. b) Door sashes are installed with the Australian Standards logo able to be read on the bottom right corner from the inside. 2 sash (single) 3 Sash (Stacker) 4 Sash (Twin) (Lock Right) (Lock Right) (Twin Slider) Inside Inside Inside Sliding 1st Sliding 1st Sliding Fixed 2nd Sliding (Mid) 2nd Fixed 3rd Fixed 3rd Outside Outside Outside Note: For Lock Left reverse configuration in single and stacker doors, twin doors have only one configuration. Pay attention to the overlapping of the door sashes to allow correct interaction. 1 st Sliding Sash 2 nd Fixed Sash c) Ensure sliding sash smoothly moves back and forth; also ensure no debris is preventing the fixed sash from being installed hard against the jamb.
3) Cover plate i) Install the supplied cover plate in order to prevent the fixed sash from moving. (1) Apply firm even pressure to cover plate to snap into position. (2) Cover plate will only fit when fixed sash in correct position hard up against jamb. (3) The Cover plate will prevent the movement of the fixed sash.
Aluminum Sliding Door Assembly Instructions Lock Assembly and Motif Fitting 1) Lock Assembly A. Striker with removable cover plate B. External Handle with barrel tongue C. Internal Handle with D removable D handle D. Grub screws for Striker fixing E. Handle Bolts (To join internal and external handles) F. Keys a) External Handle i) Cut barrel tongue correct length for door depth, leaving one line showing and cutting on the second. b) Internal Handle i) Remove D-Handle from Internal Handle assembly by removing two screws (colored) on face side. ii) Take extreme caution not to lose any loose parts from opened handle assembly.
c) Assembling Internal and External Handle Components. i) Fit External Handle to door style. (1) Match barrel tongue with Internal Handle. ii) Fit Internal Handle assembly to door style. (1) Pay particular to correct alignment of barrel tongue in locking mechanism. iii) Using two supplied countersunk head handle connection bolt to conjoin internal and external handle assemblies. iv) Re-attach D-Handle to internal side of handle assembly. d) Striker Assembly i) Remove cover plate of striker by removing center screw (largest screw). ii) Attach striker assembly to door handle latch and lock door. (1) This allows correct alignment of striker on door jamb removing chance of error. iii) Move door to close position whereby the striker will be in right position for marking holes. (1) Mark holes in center of top and bottom oval clearance holes for later adjustment if needed. (2) Drill marked holes with 2.5 mm Drill bit. (3) Using supplied grub screw (6g x 12mm), fix striker to jamb. iv) Unlock Door, releasing striker assembly. v) Reattach cover plate of striker using previously removed screw in center hole. 2) Motif Fitting a) After full door assembly the final step is fitting the motif. i) Motif s are required by law to prevent injury, all motif as a condition of sale are required to be fitted. (1) Doors without a correctly fitted motif are not covered by warranty. b) Clean glass with glass cleaning product to remove surface oils and dirt. i) Mark a level line 1100 mm from floor level. ii) Motif to be positioned in the center of door sash. c) Peel paper backing from motif. d) Apply motif on glass level with line. e) Rub firmly with finger or firm object like credit cards. f) Remove clear tape on 45 degree angle to leave motif fastened to glass surface. g) Carefully rub over the top of motif to insure correct adhesion and clean glass surface to remove marked line.
