What we heard from you. The Save The Waves Coalition is in need of updated branding for their organization and website design and development services. The new branding will better represent this organization and communicate a clear message. Website services will include the implementation of Responsive Website Design for seamless online viewing on Mobile devices for the www.savethewaves.org website. This new site will provide online information, services and support to the community and will be easily accessed using any desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone. We want Save the Waves to serve as an inspiration and a resource to others who share the same dedicated to protecting and preserving the coastal environment. We hope to improve the following: User Interface: Easy access to the most important information is key after all, if users and donors can t find the information they need, they ll look elsewhere. Currently the site is hard to navigate and the focus of the organization is lost with too many levels of navigation. We would like to explore what the main goals of the website are and utilize that information to re-organize and simplify the navigation and Calls to Action, this will make important information clear and easy to access. Branding and Website Design: Branding is key to provide instant recognition to an organization. To help with this new phase of design we will introduce the first steps in the branding process and narrow down color pallets and font usage that can provide a base for the design of the website and future marketing efforts. A new website should be streamlined, organized and viewable on all Mobile Devices (Responsive). There are new trends and standards in Web Design and Development, mainly because of the wide array of devices that are now being used to view content online. Save The Waves Coalition s site should be designed with this in mind. The Design should be clean and user friendly. A well-balanced use of Dynamic imagery along with well-placed Calls to Action and the right amount of information on the main page is the key to showing the world what Save The Waves Coalition offers and encourage giving. Website Development The www.savethewaves.org website is currently utilizing Drupal CMS, although this is a powerful tool, we have found that sites like Save The Waves are more easily handled in Wordpress. Wordpress offers an easier setup and customization platform. We have our own base themes that include ecommerce functionality and a numbers of plugins to manage a wide array of content and data. With this tool, Wordpress will allow for internal staff to easily edit and update the site in the future. PAGE 3

Content Migration The current Saves The Waves site currently has, an estimated 1148 pages. It is agreed that much of this is older content and will be archived. We will work to define what content is relevant and should be migrated over to the new site from the existing Drupal site, as well as how much content will be new and manually added. In order to keep this project within budget we will ask for help on the end of the client to help clean up imported content and add in additional content utilizing the content builder within Wordpress. As a site note, there is also the request to also migrate the content from www.worldsurfngreserves.org *Due to timeline and budget constraints, this may need to be part of a Phase 2 Integration, separate pricing has been provided below. Crowd Funding There is a need to integrate Crowd Funding Tools. We will do provide in depth research to advise the best way to intergrade Crowd Funding in to the new website. Options will include looking at the benefits of installing a custom plug-in in to the Wordpress site itself vs. branding the Campaign with in a 3 rd Party Crowd Funding tool. This will be based on meeting the existing timeline and required functionality. Online Store, Donations, Forms and Payment Processing We will need to streamline the current process that comes with managing an online store, process donations and creating forms within the new site. Our plans are to utilizing WooCommerce, which is the preferred ecommerce tool for Wordpress. This will intergrade easily with most payment gateways and provide all in once Store management with the same Wordpress site. Donation can be managed in a number of ways. We will research and provide the best options on handling the donation process. General Forms will be created using a common, easy to use Form builder with in the new site. Punta de Lobos Campaign Landing Page There is a request to provide a separate landing page for Punta de Lobos campaign with Patagonia. We are still awaiting details of what this will include but we will be sure to prepare, as needed, to incorporate this in to the launch. PAGE 4

Discover and Planning Great design starts by understanding the challenge, we begin by asking questions. We work to understand your vision, goals, audience, project parameters and desired outcomes. We research your intended audiences, and study the competition. We define the design problems and discover strategies for solving those problems effectively and memorably. At this stage we will provide: A creative brief describing our understanding of the project s goals and parameters A detailed schedule to guide the process. Initial Sitemap and Wireframe Design. We are intuitive thinkers who incorporate problem solving in to our design process. Our creativity is in tune with the development needs of your organization, and each step is thought through with care and expertise. Website Design Striking Idea will, through research and client discussion, explore various means of incorporating the desired identity and user experience into the site design. Striking Idea will then work with the client to refine and expand upon the chosen design. The design process will include: 1. Initial design concepts presented to the client for approval for the following pages: a. 2 Initial Homepage options b. Interior Page Layouts Landing Page Secondary Page 2. Revisions and evolution of design concepts from round one and two, based on client feedback. 3. Final design revisions from round three and 4 (if needed). Maximum 4 rounds of revisions. 4. { } Development. Coding and Development Once the site design has been approved, the site development will begin. The site will be built using the latest HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript techniques. We will ensure the site will follow all web and accessibility standards and be SEO friendly. We recommend moving the site to Wordpress CMS as for we feel that it is a better fit for the needs of this website. We will migrate the existing content over to the new Wordpress site, and utilize a base template that already supports Responsive design. Client will provide a development environment during the build out phase and migrate the site after final sign-off. We will integrate additional 3 rd party tools as need to support any gap there may be in managing video, photo, audio files. The development process will include: Customized Theme and Page Layouts Installing & Configuration of CMS Modules & Plugins Styling any custom elements as needed Content / Data Migration Our experts will examine the existing content that currently resides in Drupal, create an exported data file that can then be imported in to the new Wordpress CMS site. This will save time and effort in the migration process. Production Site Production includes medial tasks that are required to pull together the site. Such as the following: Clean-up and updates to existing images sizes and colors General cleanup of existing content, which includes the removal of code that would prevent proper display in mobile devices. Limit to 50 Pages. *Training will be provided to the client to complete any content updates beyond this scope. PAGE 7

Support Services Training and Quality Assurance Testing A customized training plan will be developed and training will be given to meet the needs of the clients website management team through conference calls and web-based meetings. Striking Idea will complete a thorough testing process to ensure proper coding and smooth launch of the redesigned website. Client will also be expected to complete a thorough testing cycle prior to signing off on the website. Project Management Striking Idea will manage all phases of the project from start to completion. This will include coordinating a project plan, scheduling meetings, reviewing of design comps, coordinating steps for website development and providing training and support after site launch. Client interaction is essential to the success of all engagements, helping us to reduce risk, control costs, and meet customer expectations. We work with our clients to understand the business environment; project needs, and issues contributing to the problem at hand. Project Assumptions. 1. The website will be developed using Wordpress 4.x. 2. The site will be designed to be viewed across a wide range of browser including: IE10-11, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. The site will be tested on Windows and OSX 3. Project management, communications and tracking will be primarily handled by email, over the phone (and/or Skype), and through our Project Hub. 4. Client will provide any current style guides, company branding elements available, source files, and/or photography for the design process. 5. All client deliverable reviews, including design revision and website QA will be completed within 2-3 business days. 6. The Client will provide Copywriting and Stock Photography. 7. We can ask for additional support from the client to build in additional content pages as needed in order to ensure that we meet our Launch deadline. 8. Training will be provided to help client implement new content in to the CMS system of choice, unless otherwise agreed upon. 9. The Client will provide a hosting, currently ServInt, and a development environment will be installed on the to clients hosting environment for the development phase. 10. The pricing and timing estimates indicated above are based on our current understanding of your needs. 11. If services outside the scope of this document are required, a separate quote can be provided. PAGE 8

Creation of collateral items and corporate identity assets: 1) business cards; 2) letterhead; 3) return address label for envelopes; 4) email signature 2. Migration of www.worldsurfngreserves.org site in to the new Save The Waves Wordpress platform. *Note: If time and budget allows we can incorporate this in to Phase 1.
