Wadham Student Support Funds: Student Support Grants & Loans Application Form 2013-2014 The College is concerned that students academic work should not be adversely affected by undue financial pressures. The College has funds available to assist students who experience financial difficulties as a result of unforeseen changes to their circumstances while at Wadham and help may be given either in the form of a grant or a loan, or both. If you find that financial pressure to do paid work in the vacations is preventing serious academic work, you should apply for help. The College expects students to apply for assistance from the Government Access to Learning Fund (ALF) in the first instance. In considering the level of financial support available, the College would also expect that the maximum student loans on offer from the SLC to have been taken (where these are available). Students in financial difficulties should seek advice from the Domestic Bursar or Finance Bursar and application forms for other sources of financial help, due to hardship problems, are available from the Bursary Foyer. Useful advice on avoiding financial difficulties will also be found in the College s Financial Guide for Undergraduates.
